Meet Michelle Cariaga, our Manager of the Fund Accounting 2 – Tokyo Total Returns Sub-Team.
Michelle joined Piedmont in January 2023 as Assistant Manager of the PH team, bringing with her seven years of experience in accounting, auditing, and the financial services industry. She was promoted to Manager in January 2025.
As Manager, Michelle is highly committed, dependable, and collaborative. She consistently goes the extra mile to ensure issues are resolved and deadlines are met, delivering accurate, high quality work even in fast paced environments with last minute changes. Her responsiveness and attention to detail are greatly valued, and she has successfully managed critical client concerns with clarity and confidence, strengthening relationships along the way.
As one of the most experienced managers in fund accounting, Michelle’s deep technical expertise enables her to handle complex fund structures while building trusted client partnerships. She has also shown strong leadership potential, stepping up as a temporary group head for FA2 during asian hours and coordinating effectively with management and peers.
Michelle graduated from the University of Northern Philippines, Vigan, Ilocos Sur, in 2015 and passed the CPA Licensure Examination in October of the same year.
Some fun facts about Michelle: She enjoys volunteering with her church’s NxtGen group, where she helps lead Bible studies and activities for children. She also loves listening to podcasts during long drives and singing karaoke, even if she admits she doesn’t always hit the right notes!
