Gaining firsthand insights into tax practice and public service!
On June 19, 2026, interns from Kingfisher School of Business and Finance had the opportunity to observe court hearings at the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA), gaining firsthand exposure to tax litigation and the legal processes that shape the profession.
The interns were also warmly received by Presiding Justice Ma. Belen M. Ringpis-Liban in the Justice Chamber, where she engaged with them, answered their questions, and shared her experiences. This interaction provided meaningful learning beyond the courtroom, inspiring a deeper appreciation for the legal profession, public service, and the role of tax practitioners. Accompanying the Purple Tribe Interns was Atty. Ira Bero-Abutan, Tax Advisory Manager.
This initiative builds on an earlier learning visit in March, where interns from different universities also had the opportunity to visit the Court of Tax Appeals and broaden their understanding of the intersection between accounting, taxation, and law.
Through experiences like this, P&A Grant Thornton continues to support meaningful learning opportunities that prepare future professionals for the realities of practice.
