Market update as of March 2020

BSP further reduced its bank reserve requirements ratio… This means that there will be an additional PhP 190 Billion in the system.

This will reduce interest rates and add much liquidity. This is a good move to cushion the fall of both bonds and equities (investment vehicles).

Will this be good for the equity market?

Yes, because cost of borrowings for companies will go down. Therefore, cutting losses on borrowing cost which will help them recover faster once this (COVID 19)pandemic ends.
