This temporary pause aims to address internal process issues, strengthen taxpayer protection, and uphold fairness in the audit system.
During this suspension, the issuance of Letters of Authority (LOA), Mission Orders (MO), and the examination or verification of books of accounts is on hold until further notice from the Commissioner.
However, the BIR will continue processing specific cases, including:
โ€ข Cases that are about to prescribe within six months
โ€ข Estate Tax, Donorโ€™s Tax, Capital Gains Tax, and Withholding Tax related to the sale of land or shares
โ€ข Applications from businesses undergoing closure
โ€ข Active criminal investigations that need urgent action
โ€ข Tax refund claims that require the issuance of an LOA
โ€ข Matters with deadlines set by the Commissioner
