When Someone Feels Invisible

Sometimes, the person sitting beside you may feel unnoticed.

They may be present in the room, smiling, listening, and even helping others—but deep inside, they may feel like nobody sees them. They may feel ignored, unappreciated, left out, or as if their presence does not really matter.

Not everyone who feels invisible will say it.
Some people hide their loneliness behind a smile. Some become quiet. Some stop joining conversations. Others continue helping everyone while secretly wondering, “Does anyone even notice me?”

That is why we need to be more sensitive to the people around us.

Look beyond what people show on the outside. Notice the person who has become unusually quiet. Check on the friend who suddenly withdraws. Appreciate the person who is always helping but rarely receives recognition. Include the person who is often left behind.

Sometimes, a simple “How are you?”, “Thank you,”, “We’re glad you’re here,” or simply sitting beside someone can mean more than we realize.

We may never know what someone is silently carrying.
Be sensitive. Be kind. Be intentional.

Because while we are busy living our own lives, someone around us may be feeling invisible.

And sometimes, all they need is for someone to notice them and remind them:

“I see you. You matter. Your presence matters.”

SCHOOL SAFETY PROTOCOLS: SAFETY IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY

A safe school is a place where students can learn, grow, and thrive without fear. Creating a safe and supportive learning environment requires everyone—students, teachers, parents, school personnel, and the community—to do their part.

Let’s remember these 10 simple safety practices:
1️⃣ Be Aware – Stay alert and report anything unusual.
2️⃣ Respect Others – No bullying, harassment, or violence.
3️⃣ No to Violence – Never bring or use weapons or encourage harmful behavior.
4️⃣ Secure Our School – Follow school security rules and procedures.
5️⃣ Report It – Report safety concerns immediately to responsible school authorities.
6️⃣ Use Technology Responsibly – Be responsible and kind online.
7️⃣ Know the Emergency Plan – Learn evacuation routes and emergency procedures.
8️⃣ Health & Wellness – Take care of your physical and mental well-being.
9️⃣ Be a Good Example – Lead by example and encourage others to follow safety rules.
🔟 Work Together – Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

BE SAFE. BE RESPONSIBLE. BE A LEADER.

A safe school is a better school for everyone. Together, we can help build safer schools and stronger communities.

ILEG Youth Leadership Reminder

DON’T MAKE BAD WORDS THE NORM.
ALWAYS THINK BEFORE YOU POST.

In today’s digital world, our words have power. A comment, message, or post may only take seconds to write—but its impact on another person can last much longer.
Let’s not normalize shaming, cursing, insulting, humiliating, or attacking others on social media.

Before you speak, comment, post, or share, remember to THINK:
🟢 T – TRUE
Is the message or post true?
🔵 H – HELPFUL
Does it help someone or add value?
🟠 I – INSPIRING
Is it good or uplifting for others to read?
🟣 N – NECESSARY
Does it really need to be said or shared?
🔴 K – KIND
Is the tone respectful and considerate?

Pause. Think. Then speak.

You don't have to agree with everyone—but you can always disagree with respect.
Let’s use our words to build people up, not tear them down.

BE THE REASON SOMEONE FEELS RESPECTED—NOT HUMILIATED.
BE AN UPSTANDER, NOT A BULLY.
BE A LEADER, EVEN ONLINE.

DON’T BE A SPECTATOR. BE AN UPSTANDER.
SEE IT. THINK. STAND UP. ACT RESPONSIBLY.

Violence, bullying, harassment, and harmful behavior are not entertainment.
When you see someone being bullied, humiliated, threatened, or harmed—your response matters.

❌ Don’t record violence for entertainment.
❌ Don’t like, share, or encourage harmful content.
❌ Don’t join the crowd just because everyone else is doing it.
✅ SEE IT — Recognize when something is wrong.
✅ THINK — Consider the consequences before reacting or sharing.
✅ STAND UP — Support others safely and speak up against harmful behavior.
✅ ACT RESPONSIBLY — Seek help, report appropriately, and be part of the solution.

Leadership is not about watching what happens.
Leadership is having the courage to do what is right.

Be a responsible leader—in school, in your community, online, and in everyday life.

DON’T JUST WATCH. LEAD.
BE AN UPSTANDER.

🚫 DON’T BE AN AUDIENCE TO VIOLENCE.

Violence is never entertainment. Whether it happens in school, on social media, or in online gaming, our choices can make the situation worse—or help stop it.

As young people and youth leaders:
❌ Don’t like it.
❌ Don’t share it.
❌ Don’t encourage it.
❌ Don’t record it for entertainment.
❌ Don’t turn someone’s conflict into content.

Instead:
✅ SPEAK UP.
✅ REPORT.
✅ SUPPORT.
✅ CHOOSE RESPECT.
✅ CHOOSE PEACE.

A true youth leader doesn't simply watch when something is wrong. A true leader chooses to be part of the solution.

Be a Youth Leader. Be a Peace Builder.

Together, we can build safer schools, responsible digital communities, and stronger communities.
You have the power to stop violence. USE IT.

ILEG Counter Culture Leadership for Good Governance

Week 3: "Lahat naman ginagawa 'yan."

How many times have you heard this?
"Lahat naman ginagawa 'yan."
"Everyone is doing it."

These words have become one of the most common excuses for making the wrong decision. But remember:
Just because everyone is doing it doesn't mean it is right.
A Counter Culture Leader does not allow the majority to determine what is right or wrong. Instead, they are guided by integrity, principles, and responsibility.

The answer should be NO.

Real leadership is having the courage to stand for what is right—even if you are standing alone.
Being different is not always easy, but it is often the first step toward meaningful change. Every positive movement in history began with someone who refused to accept, "Lahat naman ginagawa 'yan."

Be the person who asks:
"Tama ba ito?"
"Makakabuti ba ito sa ating komunidad?"
"Anong halimbawa ang iniiwan ko sa iba?"

Don't follow the crowd. Lead the crowd.
Choose integrity over popularity.
Choose principles over pressure.
Choose leadership over excuses.

Be a Counter Culture Leader.

ILEG Counter Culture Leadership for Good Governance

✔ Huwag matakot maging iba.
✔ Huwag matakot gawin ang tama.
✔ Huwag matakot maging unang kumilos.

Do it now.
Ikaw ang simula.
Ikaw ang pagbabago.
Ikaw ang lider na kailangan ng iyong barangay, paaralan, organisasyon, at komunidad.
