QUILALA PROPOSES ABOLISHING CONGRESS, CLAIMS ₱1-TRILLION SAVINGS

Former Anti-Red Tape Authority Director Rabindranath Quilala has proposed abolishing the Senate, House of Representatives, and local legislative bodies, claiming the move could save the government up to ₱1 trillion annually.

Kasi alam mong hindi lang galit ang laman ng tanong na ‘to.

May frustration.
May pagod.
At may pakiramdam na parang hindi pantay ang sistema.

Lalo na para sa mga taong sumusunod naman,
nagbabayad nang tamang buwis, at tahimik lang na nagtatrabaho araw-araw.

Sa batas, may penalties talaga kapag hindi ka nag-comply sa taxes.
Pwedeng multa.
Pwedeng kaso.
At sa ibang sitwasyon, pwede talagang makulong.

Pero kapag malalaking corruption cases o misuse ng public funds ang usapan,
madalas mahaba ang proseso.

Investigations.
Kaso.
Ebidensya.
Legal procedures.

At doon minsan nanggagaling yung pakiramdam ng tao na
mas mabilis maparusahan ang ordinaryong taxpayer kaysa sa mga may kapangyarihan.

Pero kahit frustrating ang sistema minsan,
ikaw pa rin ang haharap sa consequences ng sarili mong compliance.

Kaya mahalagang maintindihan mo rin
kung paano gumagana ang taxes at records mo.
Hindi dahil perfect ang sistema,
kundi dahil mas delikado kapag ikaw ang napabayaan.

Bottomline:
• Hindi lang galit ang dahilan kung bakit nagtatanong ang tao, kundi paghahanap ng fairness
• Hindi mo kontrol ang buong sistema, pero kontrol mo ang sarili mong compliance
• At habang may mga tanong tungkol sa accountability, mas lalong mahalagang hindi tumigil ang tao sa pagiging aware
