A very close friend of mine from college, who is also the ninang of my child, reconnected with me a few months back when she asked me to be the ninong of her daughter. Even after years of barely keeping in touch, it’s true that real friendships don’t fade. We may live different lives now, but when the chance comes to reconnect, the closeness feels just the same.

I did get this response less than ten times in my whole career as an insurance adviser. They all ended up still getting a policy though.
Now I’m sharing this just to remind everyone what life insurance is really for — it is never for you to enjoy but for your loved ones, especially your dependents, to continue living with your provision even without you around.

Insurance is like ordering at a fast food restaurant.
When you order a simple burger, it’s cheap. But the moment you add fries, a drink, extra cheese, or a dessert — the price goes up.
Same with insurance.
A basic plan may come with minimal protection. But when you start adding important “inclusions” — like critical illness cover, hospital income, accident protection, and savings or investment — the premium also increases.
So it’s not fair to compare premiums from different insurance companies that agents offer without thoroughly checking what comes with them. It’s just like comparing a ₱129 burger to a ₱199 value meal doesn’t make sense unless you look at what’s inside.
✅ Don’t just look at the price. 🏷️
