Dalawampung taon sa ibang bansa, pinaghirapan ang bawat sentimo para sa pamilya. Pinaaral ang mga anak, kapatid, at pamangkin. Nung nagdesisyon si Mang Jose na umuwi for good sa Pilipinas, halos wala siyang naipon.

Nasa isip niya, tutulungan siya ng mga anak, kapatid, at pamangkin na kanyang inaruga. Pero nang mag-asawa na ang mga ito, nagkaroon sila ng sariling mga responsibilidad. Naiwan si Mang Jose na nag-iisip kung saan kukunin ang pang-araw-araw na gastusin.
