Last week, after the super typhoon, nagka problem talaga ako sa work. Walang power almost a week, and bilang freelancer, malaking issue talaga yun kasi hindi ako makapag-deliver properly. And syempre kapag nagtagal, pwedeng makaapekto sa business ko.

At first, sabi ko ok lang since clients understand naman. Pero real talk, after the typhoon mismo, life goes on. Work goes on. Bills go on. So I had to figure something out.

Kaya ang ginawa ko, nag-hotel muna kami sa pinakamalapit na may signal kasi may power doon. Akala ko okay na, but nope ang hina ng wifi. So I had to figure out another way. I’m in Pangasinan. So I had to travel all the way to Bataan, sa Mariveles, para dun muna ako stay at mag work (thank you tita and tito!). Doon kasi nakatira yung partner ko and at least stable yung connection.

Medyo wild, pero that’s the reality when you treat freelancing as a business. You can’t just stop and wait na bumalik lahat sa normal. You find a way. You adjust. You move.

And honestly, yun yung biggest lesson: if you’re transitioning into freelancing, prepare yourself for moments like this. Hindi laging perfect yung setup, but the ones who figure it out, sila yung nagtatagal and nagiging top-tier freelancers.

Most of my current clients discovered me through OnlineJobs.ph and LinkedIn.

Pero kung nagsisimula ka pa lang, eto yung mga websites na pwede mong puntahan para mag-apply 👇

💻 OnlineJobs.ph - perfect for Pinoy freelancers, madali lang gamitin
💻 Upwork - for short-term or project-based work
💻 Fiverr - dito ka gagawa ng service offer or “gig”
💻 Facebook Groups - search mo lang “Hiring VA” or “Freelancer PH”
💻 LinkedIn - great platform for long-term clients

Marami ring nagtatanong sa’kin lately kung saan daw ba dapat mag-apply - lalo na ‘yung mga nakabili na ng templates and strategies. So ayan, these are great places to start! 💪
