8% vs. Graduated Rates: Choose Your 2026 Strategy Now!

1. The 8% Flat Tax Rate
Best for: Small businesses/Professionals with low overhead costs.
The Perk: Instead of complex calculations, you pay a flat 8% on gross sales/receipts (over ₱250k). This replaces both Income Tax and Percentage Tax.
The Catch: You cannot use this if you are VAT-registered or if your gross sales exceed ₱3M.
2. Graduated Rates + OSD (Optional Standard Deduction)
Best for: Those who don't want to track every single receipt but have higher operating expenses.
The Perk: You are automatically allowed a 40% deduction from your gross income—no questions asked, no receipts needed. You only pay tax on the remaining 60%.
The Catch: You still have to pay 3% Percentage Tax (if non-VAT) separately.
3. Graduated Rates + Itemized Deductions
Best for: Businesses with very high expenses (Rent, Salaries, Supplies) exceeding 40% of income.
The Perk: You can deduct all "ordinary and necessary" expenses, potentially lowering your taxable income significantly.
The Catch: Requires meticulous record-keeping and official receipts for every single centavo.
