BANK ACCOUNT
Kadalasan "savings account" but according to financial experts matatawag lamang ito na "savings account" kung hindi mo ito nagagalaw. What if winiwithdraw mo ang pera mo for your wants like food, shopping or just in case mahospital ka sa account na ito? Then hindi mo na ito matatawag na savings account. Ito ay tinatawag na "emergency fund". Ideally at least 3-6 worth of monthly expenses daw dapat ang isang emergency fund.
VARIABLE UNIT LINKED (VUL)
Ano naman ito? Dalawa pinupuntahan ng ipon mo:
1. Protection benefits - death, disability/accident or critical illness. In case may mangyari sayo you will get money. (Usually hundreds of thousands or millions)
2. Investment - may allocation ang savings mo sa bonds or stocks (e.g. Jollibee, Ayala, BDO etc) Bakit importante mainvest ang portion ng savings mo? Isa ito sa way para makapag accumulate ng funds ng mas mabilis compared to bank. Ang kinikita usually ng money sa bank ay .125% per annum which means for every 100,000 - 125pesos ang kita kada taon.
Ibig sabihin ba nito pangit ang bank account? NO! Both are important. ๐
Maganda na meron bank account ang isang tao mapa savings man yan or emergency fund for easy access pag kailangan mo ng pera. Magagamit mo rin ang transaction records kung gusto mo mag apply ng visa or loan (housing, car etc)
Advantage na may VUL account ang isang tao to protect and strengthen his/her financial portfolio including savings or emergency fund. Remember for VUL meron kang benefits na makukuha if may mangyari sayo which means hindi mo kailangan galawin ang pera mo sa bangko or ibenta ang naipundar mo in case life's uncertainties strike. It's also a way to guarantee yourself na may pera ka in the future ano man ang mangyari because basically you are forcing yourself to save for your future.
