⏰ Friendly Reminder ⏰

GST and Provisional Tax payments are due today for many NZ businesses and taxpayers.

This may apply to you if you:
✔️ File 1-monthly, 2-monthly, or 6-monthly GST returns
✔️ Pay Provisional Tax
✔️ Are linked to our tax agency services

Please ensure your returns and payments are completed today to avoid late penalties and interest from IRD.

If you’re unsure whether this applies to you, get in touch with our team and we’ll be happy to help.

Fuel's up. Materials are up. Holding your prices is quietly eating your margin.
The good news? Customers don't usually walk away because prices went up. They walk because they felt blindsided.
I've written up four practical ways to pass costs on without losing the customer, from fuel levies to escalation clauses to the quote tweak most tradies miss. Worth a read if you're feeling the squeeze right now.

We sat down with Chelsea and Daniel from Canine & Co in Te Teko this week and came away with one of the most practical conversations we have had about small business marketing in a long time.

From a wrapped bus that became the most talked-about vehicle in the Bay of Plenty, to bringing social media in-house and ditching the polished contractor content they have figured out a lot through trial and error.

The latest Beyond the Numbers piece is live. Worth a read if you have ever wondered whether your marketing is actually working.

Chelsea and Daniel of Canine & Co share what has worked, what has not, and what they are still figuring out when it comes to marketing a small business in regional New Zealand.

A quick reminder before the holiday season begins

As you look ahead to the new year, it’s worth noting 15 January 2026 as a key tax date.

For some, this may involve:

- GST return and payment for the period ending 30 November
- Provisional tax payments (March balance dates)

Let’s start the new year on the front foot.
