Meet Tanisha Jones, Senior Client Manager and Chartered Accountant.
Born and raised in Ōpōtiki, Tanisha moved to Hawke’s Bay in 2004 and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Studies in 2010. She began her working career at Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga in Hastings, a kaupapa Māori organisation supporting whānau across health, social, education and community services, before moving into public practice accounting in 2011.
Tanisha initially specialised in farm accounting and has since built a broad portfolio across small to medium businesses, charitable trusts and Māori entities. After spending 10 months as Operations Lead at Ake, she returned to the role of Senior Client Manager in April, recognising that her true passion lies in working closely with clients.
As a Chartered Accountant, Tanisha brings strong technical knowledge, practical advice and a relationship-focused approach to her work. Her practice is grounded in service, integrity, tikanga and trust, guided by strong cultural values and a deep respect for whānau, whakapapa and community.
In 2017, Tanisha returned home to Ōpōtiki with her whānau to support her parents and spend meaningful time with them in their later years. Married for 27 years and a proud mum of five, whānau is central to who she is.
Outside of work, Tanisha enjoys spending time at the gym and squash courts, and serves each Sunday at her local hāhi as a Primary Counsellor and teacher. Her faith, whānau and community continue to shape the way she leads, serves and supports others.
