Even with the OCR dropping, cost of living is still high and there will still be some time before you see any significant change to what's left in your pocket at the end of each month. We have some tips to help navigate the rest of the year until this happens:

Build up an emergency fund - An emergency fund will help you cover any unexpected costs and can break the cycle of living paycheck to paycheck, reducing unforeseen costs' stress and financial strain. Start small with what you can afford, you can cut out unnecessary costs e.g. Having coffee at home in the mornings rather than a store bought.

Check Bank Statements - Take a look through your bank statements and try find items you could without, non-essential and expensive items. You will often find there are recurring expenses which could be avoided and pinpointing these goes a long way towards stamping them out.

Repay any debts - Now this one seems obvious but the faster you can get rid of any debts the less interest you will end up paying. A $5000 balance on a credit card can cost $1500 a year in interest and fees so the faster you get rid of any debts the more you are saving.
