A message from Xero's Aus/NZ Managing Director and GCSO regarding all the outages lately (and yes, it is playing up again this morning!)
Sorry
Hi everyone,
I want to start by personally apologising, and on behalf of the whole leadership team, for the disruption caused to all of you this week.
I've read all of the comments here and through our various channels - your frustration comes through loud and clear, and it's completely valid.
When Xero isn't working, your work is impacted, your clients feel it too and it is not the standard we hold ourselves too.
I promised yesterday we will be more proactive in keeping you up to date. I'll be posting updates throughout the day today as we learn more so you know what to expect and can plan around it.
I will err on the side of caution to not mislead you / make bold promises we can't keep and be as transparent as we can be.
This is genuinely complex work, and we're treating it with the care it deserves, because getting it wrong here can create flow-on issues downstream that are much harder to unwind. The good news is we're making progress.
We've made improvements overnight, and you should start to see those come through.
We're monitoring our work closely every step of the way to make sure we're getting it right the first time.
We're also committing to a proper retro on this, not just on the technical side, but how we communicated (or didn't) along the way. That is equally important to us and we're going to work on it - we will share these findings with you.
It’s important to note that the Status Page continues to be our central source of information. Sometimes it might take a moment for this to be updated. Any brief delays are simply to ensure what we share is accurate and reliable.
We strive to do better, keep us accountable, always as you have been.
More to come soon,
Angad
