Important payroll changes from 1 April 2026:

👉 Minimum wage increases to $23.95, from $23.50

👉Minimum Kiwisaver rate increases to 3.5%, from 3%

If you have employees, make sure these increases are updated in your payroll systems from 1 April 2026.

If you have overdue taxes, and you cannot make the full payment, make sure you set them up on an arranged payment plan with the IRD at the very least. The IRD are taking no excuses at the moment. It's so important to keep funds aside for tax. Need help with budgeting for tax? Please get in contact.

Thousands of people have had money deducted from their bank accounts in recent months as Inland Revenue steps up its efforts to collect the tax it is owed.

A great couple of days in Brisbane for 2025.

Always some big announcements at these events - my two favourite:

1) Xero's new partnership with Open AI.  Soon you'll be able to ask Xero questions like - "Can I afford a new car for my business?"  Or "How are my sales tracking compared to last year?" And get answers in seconds based on your own financial data. Pretty epic.

2) Automated bank reconciliation. Bank rules on steroids - this one is going to save so much time!

Can't wait for these features to start over the next year.
