💸 OCR held at 2.75%, but it was a close call.

The Reserve Bank voted 4–3 to hold today, with three members pushing for an increase to 3%.

Here’s what matters:

Just because the bank will lend you $800k, doesn’t mean you should borrow $800k.

Your borrowing capacity and what you can comfortably afford are two very different things.

Before maxing out your budget, think about your lifestyle, everyday expenses and what your repayments would look like if interest rates increased.

The goal isn’t just to get into a home, it’s to make sure you can comfortably afford to stay there.
