Ever wonder what the difference is between a bookkeeper and an accountant? You're not alone — it's a question I get asked all the time!
While both roles are vital to a business, they do very different things:
Bookkeepers are hands-on with your business daily — think payroll, invoicing, GST, reconciling, reporting and keeping your financial data organised and accurate.
Accountants step in to check the data, make year-end adjustments, and handle things like income tax, financial reporting, and advice on business structure and tax strategy.
We work best together — bookkeepers keep things tidy and on track so accountants can do their job efficiently. It’s not one or the other — it’s both!
