I have always challenged my clients to dream about what they would like to achieve if there was no way they could fail. After my heart attack in 2024 it made me realize I love working with people and that I only enjoyed part of my job. Clients would apologize for crying because they were so overwhelmed but to be honest those conversations were the highlight of my day because I was able to help.
I committed to doing study to become a qualified counsellor and it just felt right. So right in fact the accounting no longer did.
I opened Accountabill on the 18 January 2016 and yesterday someone else took control of the accounting and bookkeeping side of the business. I know Jo is going to love working with our clients as many of them I consider to be friends now. The entire ACCOUNTABILL NZ team are staying on to work with Jo so there will be no changes as far as service levels go.
As this will be my last post I wanted to say thank you for 10 amazing, messy, challenging but oh so rewarding years. Im excited to work at a slower pace where I can truly focus on helping clients become confident business owners by teaching them everything they need to know about making money. Mental health is my passion so I will continue to work in this space specializing in tax debt cases and turning around broken companies.
My new business is Rewrite - where you get to rewrite your business journey and do it the right way. You get to rewrite the stories you tell yourself about you so they are far more positive and where you get to rewrite how you cope with challenges put in front of you so it doesn't overwhelm you so much. But for now thank you, thank you for giving me a fantastic 10 years, I feel like a very proud mum watching you take on the challenges I set and to see what you create. Im going to miss Accountabill but I know there is a need for me in the mental health / strategic space and that is my passion. Im not going far and my door is always open especially if things are starting to get on top of you. Just reach out.
