🚨 Scam Alert - Fake Inland Revenue Email Doing the Rounds 🚨

We’ve seen a phishing email circulating that looks like it’s from Inland Revenue, asking you to “verify your account details” due to a supposed direct debit issue.

⚠️ Red flags in this email:

📍Urgent request to “log in” via a link
📍Mentions refunds being held or failed
📍Generic greeting like “Kia Ora”
📍Tries to create panic so you act quickly

👉 Important: Inland Revenue will not email you asking you to click a link and enter sensitive information like this.

✅ What you should do:

📍Do not click the link
📍Do not enter any details
📍Log in directly via the official myIR website (type it in yourself)
📍Delete the email

If you’re ever unsure, flick it through to us and we’ll take a look 👍

👇 See the Farm Focus post below 👇

Fonterra payments have come through, and there’s a good reminder on how to code the dividend and capital return correctly in your accounts.

As always, if you’re unsure or want us to check anything — just flick us a message 👍

Fonterra payments have landed! Here’s how to code them in Farm Focus

Shareholders received two separate payments:
📊 A dividend
💵 A capital return
They may look similar in your bank account, but they need to be treated differently

The dividend is taxable income so we recommend coding it to Other Farm Income : Dividend (OF:DIV), or similar.

The capital return is not taxable income so we recommend coding it to Assets : Shares & Investments (ASSET:SI) or similar.

Both codes should be exempt for GST. The dividend will show under Income in your reports and be included in your Operating Surplus, while the capital return will appear under Other and won't be included.

Top tip: add a clear description to each and attach the relevant documentation for your accountant.

Questions? Your accountant or our support team can help.
