Mai LYFE

Mai LYFE Committed to Supporting Youth Initiatives in The Far North through sports & creative activities. Hence the opening of the Youth Centre.

TABW FAR NORTH - There's A Better Way Far North (Name change to Mai LYFE) provides a variety of activities for the youth. Originally we started with just 3on3 basketball trainings with the occasional trips to Auckland for tournaments. However, we felt that it was limited and there were youth that weren't interested in basketball but needed other diversions. We have several activities running simu

ltaneously which the youth can participate in. We encourage comradeship in all their activities and try to provide opportunities where they can be proactive with each other and have fun. A light snack is provided at the Youth Centre, which some of them help to set up,. Sponsors:

🚦 Guardians of Our Roads – Day 2 🚦

Kia ora e te whānau,
Day 2 of our Guardians of Our Roads Challenge is here!

Here’s what to do today:
1️⃣ Solve the riddle – have a guess before peeking at the comments!
2️⃣ Tell us why you think this riddle matters – what does it make you think about when you’re on the road?
3️⃣ Tag a friend – challenge them to join in and keep the kōrero going.

---

🧠 Today’s Riddle:
I’m painted on a sign, but I’m not a dare.
I’m not a race, I’m a guide to care.
Too fast, too slow — I’m not the game,
Choose what’s safe, not just my name.
What am I?

Hint: It’s the number we all see — but smart drivers know it’s the maximum, not the goal.

🚦 Guardians of Our Roads – Day 1 🚦

Kia ora e te whānau,
School holidays are here, and we’re starting our Guardians of Our Roads Challenge!

Every day we’ll share a riddle to get us thinking about how we travel safely.
Your job:
✅ Solve the riddle
✅ Share a photo or make a pledge in the comments about how you’ll be a guardian of the road today
✅ Tag a friend to join the challenge

🧠 Today’s Riddle:
I’m not the road, but I steal your eyes.
I’m not the music, but I make you sigh.
I break your focus, I split your mind,
One wrong move and trouble you’ll find.
What am I?

Hint: Guardians of the road know that just one glance away can change everything — stay locked on the road until it’s safe to look.

💬 Your turn: Comment your answer or share your pledge below —
like “I pledge to put my phone out of reach when driving” or “I pledge to keep both eyes on the road with kids in the car.”

Let’s turn riddles into action this holiday. 🖤

Road Safety Challenge! Be a hero, save lives

🚗🚙 Road Safety Challenge: Be a Hero, Save Lives 🚗🚙

Road safety week may be over, but that doesn’t give us 51 weeks of grace to be reckless on our roads. Not wearing seatbelts, speeding and risking our lives and others is never acceptable. Our commitment to road safety should be a constant effort.

Our team across the Road Safety Far North Districts has come up with a special package for our Matariki remembrance walk/event, and we would love for you to be a part of it. Whether you can contribute in a big or small way, your participation matters.

We know teams travel far, schools are fundraising for camps, sports teams, kapa haka competitions, whanau gather for important occasions, and marae need support with gears. We are all facing a living crisis.

As human beings, we naturally want to help each other. For us to be safer on our roads, it starts with each one of us making a conscious effort.

🚲🛵We are challenging all roopu of any age or any size to send us your creative entries:🛼🛴🚲

- Videos
- TikToks
- Posters
- Flyers
- Songs
- Haka

**Show us how you are a Road Safety Hero.**🤸‍♀️🤸‍♂️👨‍👩‍👧

How do you educate others to be safer on our roads? Share your messages, sayings, or any creative ideas you have.

We will post all entries on our page.

The entries with the most views, shares, comments, and loves will go into the draw to win Prizes to the value of $2000. This could range from:

- Petrol vouchers
- Food vouchers
- Sports kits
- First aid kits
- Portable speakers
- Child restraints

The prize will be determined based on the group or groups that win.

All winners will be filmed and interviewed upon receiving their prizes. Let’s come together to make our roads safer for everyone. Be a hero. Save lives.
