As your accountant we hold a special position of trust. We are your financial advisor. Sometimes this means telling you good news, sometimes this means telling you stuff you’d rather not hear. Either way we’re on your side. It’s a corporate world but we’re not. Professional services are essentially personal, boiling down to the relationship between those of us here at Flintoffs, and you, the client. Many of our client relationships go back to the genesis of the business, and the enduring nature of those is tremendously satisfying.

📢 April Employment Changes – What This Means for Your Business

From 1 April, we’re seeing increases to:

• Minimum wage - from $23.50 to $23.95
• ACC earners’ levy - from 1.67% to 1.75%
• KiwiSaver employer contributions - from 3% to 3.5% (and then 4% in April 2028)

Individually, the changes aren’t huge but combined, they increase the overall cost of employing staff.

Now’s a good time to:
✅ Review your wage budget for the new financial year
✅ Check pricing and margins
✅ Look at salary relativity across your team and the wider market
✅ Update your cashflow forecasts
