️🧡 CELEBRATING CULTURE, CONNECTION AND COMMUNITY 💙
Kia ora, Talofa lava, Malo e lelei, Kia orana, Bonjour, Ola, Namaste 🙏
Yesterday’s Multicultural Kai event in the office was a beautiful celebration of culture, connection and community. It was an opportunity for us all to come together over shared kai - honouring the rich tapestry of ethnicities, whakapapa and traditions within our BDO whānau, and to hear the stories that shape who we are, and what makes us unique and special.
A heartfelt thank you to our Social Club for supporting the event, and to every staff member who contributed a dish and shared a piece of their cultural identity. The sense of pride, warmth and belonging in the room was uplifting, and a reminder that while we are united as one team, our diversity is one of our greatest strengths.
We were also privileged to welcome Arish Naresh into the whare - a passionate community advocate and member of the Tairāwhiti Multicultural Council, who shared an insightful kōrero on the vital work they do across our region. Arish highlighted the pivotal role the Council plays in fostering inclusion, connection and understanding, whilst touching on some of the Council’s key initiatives and project outcomes.
As a collective, we are so proud of the strong community connection we have built with the Tairāwhiti Multicultural Council since 2018, which includes our ongoing support alongside other local businesses (Emerre & Hathaway Insurance Brokers and Amber Dental), backing the annual Colour Run for Diversity and Inclusion.
On reflection, when we take the time to really listen, learn and connect through one another’s stories, we strengthen not only our workplace, but also the wider community that we are all part of.
BDO Gisborne - proudly living our values of Whānaungatanga and Manaakitanga🫶🌏.
