Happy International Women’s Day! 🟣

The IWD 2026 theme is “rights justice action” and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than sharing this photo.

That’s my mum pointing at the MSM (Money Savvy Move) logo on the sponsor board at the Taranaki Multi Ethnic Council event. She was finding us clients before we even had a business card.

She’s also a co-founder of the Sisonke Taranaki African Community a charity we helped from scratch.

Next to her is the founder of a Taranaki K-Culture Community Trust, an organisation that we also helped register and structure.

These women had the ideas. We helped make them official. That’s what MSM is about, giving our skills so that incredible women can gain the platform they deserve.

Businesses are still going bust and the recovery might actually be the most dangerous part.

So this is pretty cool.

I’ve been running Money Savvy Move for less than a year and somehow my little practice has turned into a mini United Nations 🌍

Across 30+ people I’ve worked with so far, my clients have come from the UK, USA, Mauritius, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Nigeria, Korea, India, China, South Africa, and Australia. All beautiful humans who’ve chosen to make Aotearoa home.

So many of them come to me with the same questions,
👉🏾how does tax work here?
👉🏾Who do I need to know?
👉🏾What do I need to think about?
👉🏾And what about the cultural stuff nobody warns you about?
And it’s not just newcomers either. Some of these clients have been in NZ for decades and still need someone who properly gets it not just the numbers, but the nuance.

The similarities and differences across all these journeys honestly fascinate me. The challenges might vary but the ambition? Universal.

People keep telling me to figure out my niche. Maybe it’s ethnic communities? Maybe it’s immigrants building businesses in NZ? Honestly I don’t know if I need to label it.

These people keep finding me and I keep loving the work.Even when language is a barrier, in business, we all speak the same language: profit 💰

(And having travelled to over 25 countries, mostly around Europe and Asia, I guess it makes sense that the world keeps showing up at my door 🧳✈️)
