Check in challenge giveaway!!!!

This lock down can be incredibly tough on people both mentally and financially. In particular over the weekend where we normally go to sport, visit family or do activities outside of the house.

So this weekend we wanted to set a challenge as an area to pick up the phone and video or call three of your friends.

As we head into the first full week of the new lockdown there is a fair bit of uncertainty. How long will the current lockdown be? what is happening with the border? Will my business survive? With this it is such an important time to communicate with your employees, employers, landlords, tennants, customers and suppliers. What I learnt from the last lockdown was approaching problems early helped a lot with the end result! Even just pointing out there may be an issue in the future.

On that point the latest wage subsidy ("Resurgence") is now available for those who are going to experience a 40% drop in revenue over a period of 14 days between August 12 and September 14. Applications can be submitted from 1pm on 21 August. Note check if you would now be eligible for the eight week wage subsidy extension as this could be the better option compared to this which is two weeks.

Grant Robertson has announced a new round of the wage subsidy. The Resurgence Wage Subsidy is a 2-week payment. Applications can be made from 1pm on 21 August 2020. If you are finding it hard to calculate give us a call. A report on Xero can give you an exact comparison to review!

Local Business Love

Today we meet Kimi Johnson from Co•Op shop - by Kimi &Co

Co•Op shop - by Kimi &Co is a little pop up shop located next to Kaos on Queen in Waiuku.

Tell us a bit about your business and why it is unique?

The Co Op Shop is a collaboration of local artists, giving them somewhere funky to sell their amazing locally made gifts and crafts. This makes it a fantastic one stop shop for all your gift needs.

Where is your favourite place in Franklin and why?

My favourite place in Franklin is Waiuku, The local people make this such a safe and beautiful place to raise our children... and having several beaches on our doorstep isn't bad either.

Its amazing to see our local community businesses respond to the tragic events that happened last week.

Streetwise Coffee Pukekohe thanks for the support your providing our local heros.

Here at Streetwise we would like to take a moment to thank all our Police and Police Personnel for the amazing job they do in our community.

Last weeks tragic events have sadden our entire team and to say thank you and to remember our fallen hero’s, we are going to be giving all Police & Police personnel FREE coffees all day tomorrow (Friday 26th June).

Morning from the Hub team!

Today we are introducing JP Hechter - CrediFlex Partner.

JP is the guru when it comes to asset finance, be it an upgrade on the family wagon right through to great big diggers, line haul trucks and manufacturing machinery.

He is a whizz at what he does and makes it extremely simple for his clients. Check out his page with some neat videos of what he has done for some of his Clients.

We asked JP 3 questions and here is what he shared with us:

When I am not working I am on the golf course, riding my motorbike or entertaining my two boys.

I do what I do for a living because I am changing businesses to be profitable with positive cash flow and grow them with the correct finance structures in place.

My favourite place or thing to do in Franklin is having a bunch of friends down at Graham’s beach for a BBQ.

Welcome to 'who' is the Hub!

We will be introducing expert members of over the next few weeks.

First up is Holly from Sketch Studio . Holly has likely designed local brands that you are familiar with! We asked Holly a few things about herself to share with you.

When I'm not working I am... Renovating my house! Last year, I purchased my first home (with help from Claire McArthur Mortgages - Your Local Mortgage Broker). It's a 1960's do-up with a pink kitchen, pink bathroom, pink everything – so it needs a lot of work. As a designer, this has been a really fun side-project.

I do what I do for a living because... I'm all about making top-quality branding, graphic design and marketing accessible for small, local businesses. Sketch Studio allows me to blend my extensive corporate marketing experience with my love of creative, while giving my clients more bang for their buck.

My favourite place in Pukekohe... To me, Pukekohe's best kept secret is the creek that runs through Hickey's Reserve, where I walk my dog daily. Although the reserve needs a bit of TLC, the water is crystal clear and the old, established trees are beautiful.

Hot of the press. The Government released a small business loan scheme which provides each business $10,000 and a further $1,800 per full time employee. Note if paid back within a year it will be interest free.
