As part of the Presidential Visit to ICAN Lagos and District Society, the ICAN President, Mallam Haruna N. Yahaya, mni, FCA led a delegation to various entities within the ICAN Lagos and District Society environs. Key companies visited include T2, the Nigerian Ports Authority, First Bank of Nigeria Limited and Nigeria Exchange Group.
During the visit to T2, the 61st ICAN President commended the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Obafemi Banigbe, for its Digital Transformation and Industry Reinvention. The Institute described the transition from 9mobile to T2 as more than a rebrand, pointing to it as a deliberate move towards innovation, digital relevance, and renewed market positioning.
The ICAN President Mallam Haruna Nma Yahaya,mni, FCA also led a delegation to Nigerian Ports Authority, engaging its Managing Director, Dr Abubakar Dantsoho, on the future of Nigeria’s maritime and economic landscape. The Institute did not just commend the NPA, it pointed to clear results. A 24.8 per cent jump in cargo throughput. A bold 1 billion dollar infrastructure drive. Strategic projects like Snake Island Port and Badagry Deep Seaport already redefining Nigeria’s maritime positioning.
The ICAN President, also led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Mr. Olusegun Alebiosu. The Institute acknowledged First Bank’s longstanding role as a pillar of Nigeria’s financial system, noting its resilience amid ongoing transformation driven by regulation, digital innovation, and evolving market expectations.
At Nigerian Exchange Group, the ICAN President, commended the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Exchange Group, Temi Popoola and NGX for its role in strengthening Nigeria’s capital market, noting its impact on investment mobilization, corporate governance, and sustained equity market performance.
