Every entrepreneur needs more than just capital — you need clarity, structure, and strategy.
A few days ago, I met a young lady who reminded me why so many businesses struggle to grow, not because they lack money, but because they lack direction.

A Business Lesson from My Conversation with a Young Lady
Two weeks ago, a lady met me and showed interest in learning perfume formulation and other body care products production.
While speaking with her, I realized she had something much bigger inside of her than what she wanted to learn from me. I told her,
“You don’t need to do this as a full-time business. From our conversation, I can tell there’s something greater in you. What you truly need right now is clarity of purpose, a clear direction, and capital.”
She was surprised and asked, “How did you know?”
I smiled confidently and said,
“I’m a business coach. I’ve been doing this for years — though I just recently started sharing about it publicly on Facebook.”
She looked at me in amazement and said, “Wow!”
To test her business understanding, I asked,
“If I invest ₦50,000 in your jewelry business, how much should I expect between now and December?”
She hesitated, saying “Emm… mmm…” and after almost two minutes, I smiled and said,
“You don’t know, right?”
She replied, “Actually… with this amount, you’ll have much by December.”
I smiled again and said,
“As an entrepreneur, I don’t believe in assumptions — and I don’t work with people who build on guesses. Before you think of getting a loan, partnership, or sponsorship, go back and study your business. Know your daily, weekly, and monthly income. That’s how you can determine how much you’ll make in three months, even with a small capital.”
Then I told her,
Learn to think and speak like a professional in your field. People are willing to invest, but no one wants to invest where there’s no clarity or structure.”
Finally, I explained how I can turn ₦50,000 into ₦300,000 in three months through my perfume business, and even shared the strategic steps I would use to achieve that result.
Lesson:
Never build your business on assumptions — build it on clarity, structure, and strategy. Investors and partners don’t look for “hardworking people”; they look for intentional entrepreneurs who understand their numbers and have a clear roadmap.
If you truly want to achieve financial freedom, don’t just work in your business — learn to work on your business. That’s where growth.
