📌 STAMP DUTY MADE EASY – Employment Contracts

Did you know that not every employment contract requires stamp duty?

Understanding the rules can help employers and HR professionals stay compliant while avoiding unnecessary delays and penalties.

Here are the 3 key rules you should know:

✅ Monthly salary of RM3,000 or below
No stamping and no endorsement required.

✅ General exemption under Section 35, Stamp Act 1949
Certain exempted instruments still require an endorsement to validate the exemption.

✅ Monthly salary above RM3,000
Only the principal employment contract needs to be stamped and endorsed. Supplementary documents relating to the same employment do not require separate stamping or endorsement.

🏓 A great evening with an even greater team! 💙

Yesterday, Team TKT came together for a fun pickleball session filled with laughter, friendly matches, and great memories.

It was a wonderful opportunity to take a break from our daily routines, spend time with one another, and build stronger relationships outside of work. 🚨 New BNM Relief Facility for SMEs Affected by Global Disruptions 🚨
Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has officially launched the SME Stabilisation Relief Facility (SME SRF). This initiative aims to provide timely working capital support to help viable businesses navigate economic uncertainties and alleviate cash flow constraints stemming from the geopolitical conflict in West Asia (beginning March 2026).
Key Features of the SME SRF:
1. Financing Size: Up to RM750,000 per SME.
2. Financing Rate: Highly competitive at up to 3.75% p.a. (inclusive of a 0.5% p.a. guarantee fee) .
3. Maximum Tenure: Up to 5 years.
4. Purpose: Strictly for working capital (excludes refinancing).
5. Guarantee: Up to 80% coverage provided by Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC) or Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan Berhad (SJPP).
Who is Eligible?
Viable Malaysian SMEs (with at least 51% Malaysian ownership) that are experiencing financial stress due to trade and supply chain disruptions from the West Asia conflict.
Availability:
The facility is available from 15 May 2026 until 31 December 2026, or until the fund is fully utilised.
Applications can be made directly to participating financial institutions (PFIs). For more details, visit BNM’s official page: https://www.bnm.gov.my/funds4sme.

Starting from YA 2026, e-Invoice transaction data may support the pre-filling of individual tax relief information.

Taxpayers are encouraged to request e-Invoices for purchases related to tax relief claims, including:

✔️ Computers & smartphones
✔️ Lifestyle expenses
✔️ Insurance
✔️ Childcare fees
✔️ Other eligible relief categories

To receive an e-Invoice, buyers should provide their IC number or Tax Identification Number (TIN) during purchase.

Why does this matter?

✅ Easier record management
✅ Faster tax relief verification
✅ More efficient tax filing process
✅ Better tracking through the MyInvois Portal

This initiative is part of HASiL’s effort to strengthen Malaysia’s digital tax ecosystem and improve tax compliance efficiency.
