The Institute of Commercial and Industrial Accountants, Malaysia (ICIA) was formed on 9 September 1980 under the Societies Act 1966. It is the 3rd largest Accountancy body formed in Malaysia after the MIA and MICPA. Members of ICIA at Certified and Fellow levels are entitled under the Constitution to designate themselves “Certified Accountant” and use the initials “CICA” or “FICA” as appropriate t

o their grade of membership. The Institute’s main objectives are to provide (under clause 3.1 of its Constitution) an organisation for accountants and to support and advance the status and interest and protect the character of the accountancy profession, and to provide (under clause 3.2 of its Constitution) means by examinations or otherwise for assessing the knowledge, experience and character of candidates for admission to membership of the Institute as its main objectives.
