One Small Positive Step Can Change Everything. ✨
(Powerful Life Lesson #21/100)

I don't always consider myself a positive person. Like many others, I experience worries, self-doubt, and sometimes expect the worst.

Recently, I discovered that POSITIVITY is one of my Top 5 Strengths.

It made me reflect on how God has used this strength throughout my life.

When I was 25 and working at Panasonic, I was chosen to give a presentation to more than 200 leaders—even though my English was very poor.

My mentor didn't choose me because I was the best speaker.

He chose me because of my positive attitude and willingness to learn.

During the presentation, I lost my line.

Instead of panicking, I paused, found my place, and continued.

That experience taught me:

Positivity doesn't mean ignoring challenges.

It means believing that challenges can be overcome—one small step at a time.

So today, when you feel stuck, don't ask:
❌ "Can I do this?"

Instead ask:
✅ "What is one small step I can take today?"

Maybe it's making that phone call.

Maybe it's starting that unfinished project.

Maybe it's simply believing in yourself again.

🙏 Pray. Believe. Take one small step.

You may be surprised where that small step can lead you. ❤️

🧩 You don’t have to be perfect to start.
💪 You just need to take the first step.
(Powerful Life Lesson #20/100)

I realised I have a perfectionist side.

I often started projects but stayed too long in the planning stage, thinking:

"It’s not good enough yet."

That created frustration and affected my confidence.

Then came a turning point in 2021.

I had just left corporate life and was studying to become a Registered Financial Planner.

An opportunity came to conduct a financial literacy session for an MNC, with 110+ participants.

My first thought?
"Who am I to do this? I’m still learning!"

Thankfully, my mentor said:
“You don’t need to be perfect. Just share what you have experienced and learned.”

So I did.

My English wasn’t perfect.
My experience wasn’t extensive.

But I showed up and gave my best.

And something amazing happened.

I enjoyed sharing.
People benefited.
Some even approached me afterwards for financial planning support.

That experience taught me:
PERFECTIONISM tells us to WAIT.
COURAGE tells us to START.

This is one lesson I took from The Gifts of Imperfection:

🌱 DONE IMPOERFECTLY is often BETTER than WAITING for PERFECT.

What is one small step you’ve been postponing because you feel “not good enough”?

START ANYWAY.

Your IMPERFECT FIRST STEP may become someone else’s BREAKTHROUGH. ❤️

What If Your First Small Step Opens a Door You Never Expected? 🚪✨
(Powerful Life Lesson #19/100)

Reading Act Like a Success, Think Like a Success reminded me that success is not just about achieving goals.

It is about discovering your gift, taking action, staying resilient, and continuing to grow.

My journey started with one question:

“What has God gifted me to do?”

In 2015, my spiritual mentor introduced me to the SHAPE framework:
🎁 S – Spiritual Gifts
❤️ H – Heart (passion)
💪 A – Abilities (natural talents & skills)
🧩 P – Personality
🌱 E – Experiences

It took me 5 years of learning, searching, praying, and taking small steps before God opened the door for me to leave corporate life and pursue my calling as a Financial Coach and Wealth Advisor.

I didn't have everything figured out.

While studying for my RFP, before I even had clients, I was given an opportunity to share financial literacy with more than 100 employees online.

I simply shared my own journey—how I started saving, investing, learning from mistakes, and improving along the way.

And I discovered something:

I found joy in sharing what I had learned to help others.

I never planned to become a trainer.

But over time, more opportunities came—financial literacy workshops, board game sessions, and

this year, the privilege to serve as a Co-Trainer for the Certified Financial Coaches Program.

Looking back, I am grateful for this amazing journey. 🙏

My lesson is simple:

You don't need to see the whole path. Just take the first small step.

Maybe your first step is:
📌 Learn something new
📌 Share what you know
📌 Try something you have never done
📌 Volunteer when an opportunity comes
📌 Keep going when things are difficult

Discover your gift. Take action. Keep learning. Stay humble. Never give up.

Your small step today may open a door you never expected. 🚪✨

💰 3 Lessons from The Richest Man in Babylon That Changed My Journey
(Powerful Life Lesson #18/100)

this book reminded me that building wealth does not always start with a high income or a big decision.

It can start with one small step. 🌱

1️⃣ PAY YOURSELF FIRST

When I started working, I made it a habit to save and invest 10% of my income.

Over time, these small savings helped my family through challenges and gave me more financial flexibility to pursue my calling.

💡You don't need to start big. Start with what you can.

2️⃣ KNOW WHERE YOUR $$$ GOES

Although I trained as an accountant, I didn't track my own expenses at the beginning!

When I finally did, I was shocked to discover how much I had spent on DVDs. 😄
That awareness helped me change my spending habits.

Until today, I still track my expenses—not to restrict myself, but to make wiser choices.

💡Awareness is often the first step towards change.

3️⃣ GROW YOUR WEALTH -PROTECT WHAT YOUR BUILD

Over the years, I learned that investing is not only about staying invested and pursuing growth.

Every investment has good and challenging times.

The question is: How can we protect our downside while still participating in potential market growth?

I am grateful that today, there are solutions designed with a safety cushion.
For example, under certain structures, if the market falls by up to 15%, the investment may be protected from that loss—while still allowing participation in market upside, subject to certain caps.

Of course, this type of solution is not suitable for everyone and requires certain eligibility or pre-qualification.
(Curious to understand how this works? Feel free to connect with me). 🌱

And the greatest investment of all? INVESTING IN YOURSELF. 📚💪

You don't need to have everything figured out before you begin.

Start with one small step today:
🌱 Save a little
🌱 Track your expenses
🌱 Learn something new

Small steps, repeated consistently, can create meaningful change over time.

If I can take that first step, so can you. 💛

🆓 Freedom Needs Purpose
(Powerful Life Lesson #17/100)

I recently revisited The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss, and one idea really resonated with me:

Don’t just pursue more income. Pursue more FREEDOM—and give that freedom a PURPOSE.

When I was in corporate, I had good income, career opportunities and a great team.

But one responsibility challenged my values deeply: cutting 15% of manpower every year.

I remember asking my ex-boss,
“Some of these employees are near retirement and are the sole providers for their families. Do we really need to cut them?”

His answer:
“This is the reality. You are in this position, so you need to do the job.”

I realised I had a choice.

So I left.

I didn’t start with Goal Setting.
I started with FEAR SETTING.

Worst case?
-I might not find another corporate job.

Prevention?
-Build sufficient financial reserves so I wouldn’t be forced to work purely for money.

Then I asked:

What do I want to BE, DO and HAVE?

BE: An integrity-driven, trusted financial coach.
DO: Help families improve their financial well-being.
HAVE: Peace, joy, purpose and freedom.

Looking back, I’m grateful.

Freedom allowed me to learn, serve, spend more time with family and build deeper relationships.

You don’t have to quit your job tomorrow.

Start with one small step:

👉 Eliminate one low-value activity.
👉 Reclaim that time.
👉 Use it for something that truly matters.

Don’t wait until retirement to start living with purpose.

💰 “Profit First” challenged the way I think about business.
(Powerful Life Lesson #16/100)

When I first started my own business, my mind said:
“I just started. I don’t even have profit yet. How can I set aside profit?”

But then I reflected on my own journey.

When I left corporate to pursue God’s calling in financial coaching and advisory, I started with NO INCOME.

Yet, I still chose to practise two priorities:

🙏 GIVE BACK TO GOD FIRST
- out of gratitude for His blessings and to support His Kingdom and those in need.

🌱 CONTINUE SAVING
- even when income was uncertain, because I believe a small, consistent habit can protect and strengthen a family during both good and difficult times.

Then I realised…

“Profit First” is built on the same principle.

Don’t wait until you have “enough” before building the right habit.

Start small.

If you cannot save 10%, start with 1%.

If your business has no profit allocation, start with 1%.

If you have never given, start with a small portion.

The AMOUNT may be SMALL, but the HABIT can CHANGE YOUR FUTURE.

Your priorities are not shown by what you say is important.

They are shown by WHAT YOU CHOOSE TO ALLOCATE FIRST.

Take the first small step today. 💪🌱

😇 The Small Shift That Changed My Life
(Powerful Life Lesson #15/100)

In 2005, my boss sent me to a workshop on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

At that time, I was insecure, negative, passive and often judgmental.

I remember thinking:
“Why am I working so hard, but my boss promoted someone who is better at talking?”

Then one lesson stopped me in my tracks:

Focus on what is within your Circle of Influence—not what is beyond your control.

I couldn’t control who my boss promoted.

But I could control my attitude.
I could improve myself.
I could choose how I responded.
I could keep learning.

That small shift—from complaining to taking ownership—became a turning point in my life.

Over the years, by God’s grace and through the many mentors He placed in my life, I slowly learned to:

🌱 Be more proactive
🎯 Prioritise what truly matters
🤝 Look for Win-Win solutions
👂 Seek to understand before trying to be understood
🔄 Keep “sharpening the saw” through continuous learning and growth

I am still learning.

Even though I am qualified and specialise in helping people enhance their financial well-being, I humbly recognise that I will never have all the answers.
And that’s okay.

The best investment is not always about money.
Sometimes, the best investment is in ourselves.

So, if you feel stuck today, don’t try to change everything at once.

Just take one small step within your Circle of Influence.

Maybe:
• Read 10 pages of a good book.
• Have one meaningful conversation.
• Learn one new skill.
• Replace one complaint with one action.
• Spend 10 minutes reflecting on what truly matters.

Small choices, repeated consistently, can change the direction of a life.

Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep becoming. 🌱

🤩 THINK FAST. BUT KNOW WHEN TO SLOW DOWN.
(Powerful Life Lesson #14/100)

I used to believe that success meant think fast, decide fast, act fast.

But Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman taught me something important:

Not every decision should be made quickly.

Especially when it comes to RELATONSHIP and FINANCES.

In RELATIONSHIPS, I used to jump to conclusions without fully understanding the other person’s perspective.

The result? The other person felt unheard and misunderstood.

I’m learning to seek to understand first, before seeking to be understood.

The same applies to FINANCIAL DECISIONS.

Before buying something or making an investment, pause and ask:

What are the facts?
What are the risks?
What resources do I have?
What information might I be missing?

A good framework and system can help us slow down, evaluate objectively, diversify wisely, create multiple sources of wealth and income, and protect the downside.

But there is another danger:

Don’t overthink until you become paralysed.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin.

Take the first small step.

💡 Instead of immediately investing RM100,000, start by reviewing your cash flow and financial goals for 30 minutes.

Instead of reacting to someone’s words, pause and ask one question:

“Help me understand what you mean.”

Small pauses can lead to better decisions.

Think fast when speed matters.
Slow down when wisdom matters.
Then take one step forward.

😱 A “Failure” That Changed How I Invest
(Powerful Life Lesson #13/100)

Have you ever bought a property expecting the rental income to cover the loan—and even create positive cash flow?

My first 3 properties did.
My 4th didn’t.

For a while, I felt like I had failed and lost confidence.

Then I remembered a powerful principle from Ray Dalio’s Principles:
Pain + Reflection = Progress.

Instead of asking, “Why did this happen to me?”

I started asking, “What can I learn from this?”

That experience strengthened my conviction about DIVERSIFICATION.

Property can be a great asset, but it is less liquid.
When the market is weak, selling may take time, the price may be below expectations, and there are transaction costs.

That’s why I’m grateful I had already started building different investment and savings “pods” across asset classes, including more liquid assets.

It gave me flexibility to move resources, manage cash flow and adapt when circumstances changed.

The lesson?
You don’t need to get everything right from Day 1.

Take one small step:
→ Start saving consistently.
→ Learn one investment principle.
→ Build your first investment pod.
→ Diversify gradually.
→ Review and adjust as you learn.

Markets change. Life changes.

A solid financial foundation gives you the flexibility to change with them.

And personally, I’m grateful for God’s guidance—and for the mentors and experts He has placed along my journey to help me learn and grow.

Don’t let one setback stop you.
Turn the pain into a principle.
Turn the principle into action.

What is one small financial step you can take this week? 🌱
