MIA is a statutory body established under the Accountants Act 1967, with a mandate to regulate and develop the accountancy profession in Malaysia in support of nation building. Working closely alongside businesses, MIA connects its membership to a wide range of information and resources, events, professional development and networking opportunities. Presently, there are more than 36,500 members ma

king their strides in businesses across all industries in Malaysia and around the world. MIA’s international outlook and connections are reflected in its membership of regional and international professional organisations such as the ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA), and the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). The Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), led by President YBhg. Dato’ Saniza Said, Vice President En Ahmad Syahazan Yaacob, CEO Mr G Shanmugam and the senior management team paid a courtesy visit to YBhg. Dato’ Fad’l Mohamed, CEO of Bursa Malaysia.

The meeting reaffirmed the longstanding and productive collaboration between Malaysian Institute of Accountants and Bursa Malaysia, highlighting a shared commitment to advancing Malaysia’s capital market ecosystem and elevating the accountancy profession.

Discussions were constructive and forward-looking, focusing on expanding collaboration in key areas such as sustainability, talent upskilling, technology adoption, and AI deployment. Both parties expressed strong optimism about the opportunities ahead and their collective role in fostering innovation, resilience, and future-ready professionals within the industry.
