I am honored to get invited to attend the Corporate Visit on our Investment Platform Service Provider - Investor Trust Assurance (ITA), which they has just moved their office from KLCC to TRX Exchange 106 Tower.

Investor Trust Assurance is a regulated offshore insurance and investment company under Labuan Financial Services Act (LFSA).

In addition we had a meeting with the Chief Marketing Office together with their senior management team to further improve the level of services towards our client. Looking forward for their future growth.

Last Saturday I was attended the yearly investment conference organized by Phillip Capital. The conference was an absolute treasure trove of knowledge

Throughout the event, I have summarized some of the key points shared by the fund managers towards the upcoming market outlook on various countries:

𝐔.𝐒. - Growth slowdown with potential of mild recession, but could be offset by change in FED policy which is positive for equities

𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚 - Growth to return to a more gradual trend post re-opening bounce. Look for more policy support to boost markets. Remain positive on consumption plays which show strong growth and attractive valuations

𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐰𝐚𝐧 - On an improving trend as investors look past the bottom for the semiconductor inventory cycle

𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍 - Thailand as a beneficiary of China re-opening. Indonesia continue to have a positive consumption

𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐄𝐏𝐅 𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐓 𝟏 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐓 𝟐 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐋 𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐁𝐈𝐆𝐋𝐘

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) in Malaysia offers its members the opportunity to make withdrawals from their EPF accounts for various purposes.

It's important to understand the eligibility criteria for EPF Account 1 and Account 2 withdrawals to make informed decisions regarding your savings.

𝐄𝐏𝐅 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝟏 primarily serves as a retirement savings account, and withdrawals from this account are subject to specific conditions.

𝐄𝐏𝐅 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝟐 is designed for various purposes, including housing, education, and healthcare. Here are some common withdrawal purposes and their associated eligibility requirements:

𝐀𝐆𝐄 𝟓𝟎
- One-time partial withdrawal
- All or Part of your savings in Account 2

𝐄𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍
- Total tuition fees/outstanding education loan OR;
- Entire savings in Account 2 (whichever is lower)

𝐁𝐔𝐘𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐄
- Below age 55
- Purchasing residential house
- Approved loan from recognized lenders or self-financed

𝐁𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐃 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐄
- with Land Purchase or Owned Land
- Below age 55
- You/your spouse are purchasing a land and building a house
- Construction Agreement is dated less than three (3) years form the date of withdrawal application

𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐄/𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐄𝐄𝐌 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐋𝐎𝐀𝐍
- Below age 55
- Bought/built first or second residential house
- Registered owner of the property
- Have an outstanding housing loan with loan providers recognized by the EPF
- Application can be made once a year from the last withdrawal date

𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐋𝐎𝐀𝐍 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐇𝐋𝐘 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓
- Below age 55
- Bought/built a residential house
- Have an outstanding housing loan with an EPF approved loan providers recognized by the EPF
- Started paying monthly loan instalments

𝐅𝐋𝐄𝐗𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆
- Set aside part of the savings in your Account 2 to a Flexible Housing Withdrawal account
- When evaluating your loan eligibly, the financial institution consider your monthly EPF contribution as part of your income
- Higher loan eligibility means you can now afford the house you've always wanted!

𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐄𝐒 / 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐏𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓
- Below Age 55
- Medical costs are not fully covered by employer
- Illness/medical aid equipment are approved by the EPF
- Not receiving alternative treatments

𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐑𝐌 𝟏 𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒
- Below Age 55
- Flexibility to withdraw and manage excess savings on your own

It is advisable to refer to the EPF's official guidelines, consult with relevant authorities, or seek professional advice to ensure compliance with the specific eligibility criteria for your intended withdrawal.

I come across a lot of my clients and friends who ask me this question:

"Yee Xiong, why I start investing and the stock market goes down?"

"You want a good return? You need to be patient enough and invest consistently. It's the same as what I tell you about fitness journey."

𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐅𝐈𝐓𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒

There are no shortcuts when it comes to investment and fitness.

You can't wait for the market on bull run to start to invest;
You can't wait for some magical workout to transform your body.

It's about consistency and patience,
even when you feel lousy or bad performance,
Some days will be great; some days will be bad.
But you have to put in the work, do the correct way, and trust the process.

If you want to be fit, you need to deal with pain and sore;
If you want to earn money, you need to deal with risk and loss.

In the long term, you will improve, and you will see the result.

𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐋 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘

You can't expect to invest today/start workout today and be rich /grow muscle or slim down body in short period.

If you do it in the right way, be consistent and patient enough, a favorable result will come to you.

The fundamental for investing and trading is same: to make money

We always confuse with investing and trading, sometimes we might use the wrong concept to treat our investment like a trading. That's where a lot of investor losing money because of:

1. Influence by bad news from media
2. Follow the crowds
3. Not clear with own investment goals
4. Think we are able to easily make money from the market by buying low selling high

Always seek for professional advice to understand where is your standpoint when come to investing, make clear of your investment goals, your target return and level of risk you can take

Successful investing is about managing the risks, not just focus on the profits

The more you understand your investment style, the better decision and profit you can make
