Position: Accountant
Smart & Simple Co Accountants is a professional accountancy firm serving a wide range of clients, with the majority based in the UK. We are looking to employ Accountants to join our growing professional team.
The firm has a friendly, hardworking atmosphere and is seeking self-motivated candidates who can perform well under pressure, demonstrate innovative problem-solving, show a willingness to learn, and embrace new responsibilities.
Duties
• Preparation and filing of VAT returns
• Assisting in year-end account preparation
• Bookkeeping
• Bank reconciliations and client month ends
• Working alongside senior members of staff
• Supporting payroll for clients
• Liaising with clients
Requirements
• Positive and professional working attitude, with the ability to work under minimal supervision
• Ability to work independently while being a strong team player
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a professional environment
•. Experience in an accountancy firm is preferred but not essential.
• Strong knowledge of Excel and Word
• Pleasant phone manner and ability to multi-task
• Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Some Saturday work may be required for training and meetings

• Requested Start Date: October 2025
• Role: Permanent
• Working hours: 9 am – 5 pm, Mon–Fri (with some Saturdays for training/meetings)
