MANNA FOR BREAKFAST DAILY DEVOTION
Sunday 11th September 2022
“Go down to the potter’s shop, and I will speak to you there.” So I did as he told me and found the potter working at his wheel. But the jar he was making did not turn out as he had hoped, so he crushed it into a lump of clay again and started over.
Jeremiah 18:2-4 NLT
*God can reshape you for his purpose. Allow his word to mould you.*
Good morning child of God.
God used the illustration of the potter to illustrate his position and power over his people, Israel. Jeremiah went to the potter's workshop. He found the man busy at work with his clay. The potter had an idea of a vessel that would please him and serve his purpose. But as he started to mould the vessel it came out undesirable. So the pot
ter broke it and started again.
The lesson from this observation is that God is like a potter and we are like the clay. God knows his plan and purpose for our lives. He knows what he wants out of our lives and he is busy moulding us. As the potter, God has the power and ability to shape and mould us the way he desires. And if it happens that he do not turn out to be what God desires he can break us and remould us.
God's power to mould his vessels lies in his word. As we go to church today, let us allow ourselves to be malleable in the hands of God. Let us allow the word of God to break us and remould us, until we are who God wants us to be. Remember that Proverbs 29:1 says that he who is often rebuked and hardens his neck shall be suddenly broken and that without remedy. Let our hearts not be calloused and indifferent to the word of God. Allow God's word to transform your heart today.
LET US PRAY
Father, we thank you for the word this morning. Lord, you are the potter and I am the clay. Help me to remain malleable in your hands. Let your word transform me into the kind of vessel that you desire In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
