A little friendly competition away from the office! 🎳

Our team recently swapped their desks for the bowling green, getting together for an evening of lawn bowls followed by a BBQ and drinks.

It was great to catch up outside of the office, although we're not sure everyone agreed on the definition of friendlycompetition... 👀

As part of Laurie Canter's visit to Jersey, we were delighted to welcome him to our office.

During the session, Laurie shared his insights on leadership, ambition and performing under pressure before taking questions from colleagues across the business. It was a fantastic opportunity to hear first-hand about the mindset and dedication required to compete at the highest level of professional sport.

Through our partnership with Laurie Canter, Brand Ambassador for Baker Tilly Channel Islands, our Managing Director, Ewan Spraggon, recently had the opportunity to spend time with Laurie and his team at Shinnecock Hills, one of golf's most iconic championship venues.

Laurie went on to finish tied 43rd, but what stood out most was not simply the golf. It was the preparation, discipline and trusted team behind the performance.

From specialist coaches and support staff to caddie Max and Laurie’s wife Anna, every individual played an important role in creating the environment needed to perform at the highest level.

The experience reinforced a simple lesson: success is rarely achieved alone. Whether in professional sport or business, the right team around you can make all the difference.

This Saturday, our colleague Calan "The Cannon" Sanderson will step into the ring for the Rock Fitness White Collar Boxing event.

After nine weeks of training, Calan will be taking on the challenge in support of Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey helping to raise both funds and awareness for a charity that provides invaluable support to people affected by cancer in our community.

Good luck, Calan. We're all behind you and wish you every success on fight night! 🥊
