ജി.എസ്.ടി ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ നേരിട്ട് വ്യാപാരസ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിലേക്ക് എത്തുന്നു — രജിസ്ട്രേഷൻ ഇല്ലെങ്കിൽ കനത്ത പിഴ, അക്കൗണ്ട് ഫ്രീസ് ചെയ്യലും, ക്രിമിനൽ നടപടികളും

40 ലക്ഷത്തിന് മുകളിലുള്ള വാർഷിക വിറ്റുവരവുള്ള ചരക്കുവ്യാപാരികളും, സേവന ഘടകം ഉള്‍പ്പെടുന്ന ബിസിനസ്സുകൾക്കായി 20 ലക്ഷത്തോളം വാർഷിക വിറ്റുവരവുള്ളവരും ജി.എസ്.ടി നിയമപ്രകാരം നിർബന്ധമായും രജിസ്ട്രേഷൻ എടുക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. കൂടാതെ, ജി.എസ്.ടി നിയമം സെക്ഷൻ 24 പ്രകാരം നിർദ്ദേശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പ്രത്യേക വിഭാഗത്തിൽ പെടുന്ന വ്യാപാരികൾ വിറ്റുവരവ് പരിധി കണക്കാക്കാതെയും രജിസ്റ്റർ ചെയ്യേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. ഇതിനെയും അവഗണിച്ചു രജിസ്ട്രേഷൻ ഇല്ലാതെ വ്യാപാരം നടത്തുന്നത്, നികുതിയധികൃതർ നിർദേശിക്കുന്ന കനത്ത പിഴയ്ക്കും പിറകോട്ടുള്ള നികുതി ഈടാക്കലിനും വഴിവെക്കും. വാർഷിക ടേൺഓവറിൽ നിന്ന് കണക്കാക്കി പലിശയും പിഴയും ഉൾപ്പെടെ വൻതുകയുടെ ബാധ്യത നേരിടേണ്ടി വരുമെന്നതിനാൽ വ്യാപാരികൾ ഏറ്റവും ജാഗ്രത പുലർത്തേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. കൂടാതെ, സാമ്പത്തിക ഇടപാടുകൾ പരിശോധിച്ചും ബാങ്ക് വിവരങ്ങൾ സമർപ്പിച്ചും നികുതി അനുസരണങ്ങൾ തെളിയിക്കേണ്ട സ്ഥിതിയിലേക്ക് വ്യാപാരികളെ നയിക്കാനുള്ള സാധ്യതയും ഒഴിവാക്കാൻ കഴിയില്ല.
