✅ This ITR season, we successfully completed almost all filings well before the deadline 🕒
What made it more challenging? The penultimate day of filing fell on a Sunday, a weekly holiday for us.
When you’re managing multiple compliances and coordinating with people who may not always share the same discipline, the importance of advance planning becomes crystal clear.
👉 Discipline isn’t about working longer hours, it’s about working smarter, earlier, and more consistently.
Because of a structured plan and persistent follow-ups, our team could take the holiday without panic, and still meet deadlines comfortably.

💡 Is 8% Income Under Section 44AD Always Safe? Think Again.
Many small businesses with turnover below ₹2 crore opt for Section 44AD, presuming it’s a blanket rule to declare 8% of turnover as income. Simple, right?

Not quite.

📜 The section actually says:

"8% or a higher sum claimed to have been earned... shall be deemed to be the income."

🔍 So, the 8% is just the floor, not the ceiling.
If your actual profits are more, you're expected to disclose the higher figure.

Now, here’s the catch —
If you’re showing 8%, but your lifestyle, assets or digital spending don’t match, you’re inviting scrutiny.

🚨 In such cases, the department can invoke:

Section 69 for unexplained investments or expenditure, and

Tax it under Section 115BBE at a harsh rate of 78% (incl. surcharge & cess)

✅ Key Takeaway: Presumptive income is a convenience, not a loophole.
Declare what you genuinely earn. Avoid red flags.

🔴 GST Alert – Bank Details Previously Valid Are Now Marked “Invalid”!

In a recent development observed across multiple states, businesses are facing sudden GSTIN suspensions due to bank account validation failures – even for accounts that were already validated earlier on the GST Portal.

👉 This appears to be due to backend re-validation triggers from GSTN, possibly tied to recent API or system updates.

⚠️ Impact:

GSTINs are being suspended without any prior notice

Filing of returns, e-Invoicing, and other compliances come to a halt

Risk of cancellation if not acted upon promptly

✅ What should businesses do?

Immediately verify the bank validation status of all registered GSTINs on the portal

If marked invalid or suspended, re-upload latest bank proof (passbook copy/bank statement with visible account name, number, and IFSC)
