I am a street, travel and wedding photographer, dividing my time between Toronto and Mumbai, where I moved two years ago. I was always a bit of a wide-eyed child, seeking out the visually arresting and artistically striking. Growing up in Abu Dhabi meant I was constantly exposed to the confluence of different cultures, and I remember walking through the silk, gold and spice markets of the Middle E
ast drinking in the sights, sounds and smells that accosted me. Having done my time in the corporate world as a Chartered Accountant, I decided I could afford taking a bit of a gamble on what I instinctively loved, and since moving to Mumbai, I have had the pleasure of working with – and been mentored by – some of the city's leading fashion photographers. My abiding passion lies in framing unguarded moments as people go about their daily lives – giving form and meaning to easily forgotten moments. I chase the raw – the chaotic bustle of great cities, the gritty beauty of urban decay and the disorganized beauty of street art. For me, it is essential that each image is an independent creation, a self-contained narrative. In my spare time, I savour the cornucopia of aural and visual stimuli afforded to me by the cities I live in, where I can be found wandering the streets, night or day, rain or shine, in search of that ever-elusive "perfect picture".
