Some of the biggest business mistakes begin with a sentence: “I heard this from someone…”

Growing up, my father and relatives—deeply rooted in business—would casually throw questions at me. Concepts they had picked up from friends, WhatsApp forwards, or market conversations.
Some were right. Some were half-right. And some… needed a complete reset.

Back then, it felt like small conversations.

But when I stepped into practice, I saw the same pattern everywhere.

Smart, hardworking entrepreneurs…
Making decisions based on fragmented understanding.

That’s when it became clear to me —
the gap is not effort, it’s clarity.

Yesterday’s session on Smart Tax & Financial Planning for FY 2026–27 for MSMEs was built on this exact insight. And I chose to deliver the entire session in Tamil — because clarity comes best in the language we think in.

No jargon. No complexity. Just practical, usable finance.

We spoke about:
• Cash flow discipline
• Cost control that actually works
• Tax planning opportunities
• GST compliance checkpoints
• Investment thinking for business growth
• Key due dates and risk areas

What started years ago as casual family conversations has now become my professional purpose —
to simplify finance, clear misconceptions, and help entrepreneurs take confident decisions.

Happy to have contributed, even in a small way, to bringing that clarity to many more businesses.

Because finance should empower, not confuse.

Making Students Future-Ready — Beyond Textbooks, Beyond Theory

For nearly a decade, I have been walking into college classrooms with one simple observation:

Our students are intelligent.
They are ambitious.
But they are not always industry-ready.

They know concepts — yet hesitate when asked about business structures.
They study taxation — yet are unsure how returns are actually filed.
They aspire for corporate roles — yet lack clarity on professional expectations.
And personal finance? Almost untouched territory.

That gap is not about intelligence.
It is about exposure.

With that intent, we designed a two-day intensive workshop — “Thiranakkam” — conducted at NPR Arts and Science College.

For two days, we moved beyond theory.

We spoke about:
• Constitution of business — what students will actually encounter
• Tax rates and real-world compliance
• Direct and Indirect tax return filing basics
• Personal finance fundamentals every graduate must know
• The transition from college to corporate life

The idea was simple:
Don’t wait for the corporate world to teach what colleges can introduce.

Very happy to share that CA Ajith Kumar collaborated for the first time on this initiative. His insights added tremendous depth, and together we were able to give students both perspective and practicality.

If we truly want employable graduates, training must evolve.
Skill-building must start early.
Financial literacy must become foundational.
Professional attitude must be shaped before the first job.

“Thiranakkam” is our step toward making students not just degree-holders — but decision-makers.

Because future-ready professionals are not created overnight.
They are prepared.

From “Terror” to Tenali: How Humour Rewrote My everyday Story

Delivering a session at Toastmasters today on Tenali Raman felt personal.
In the grand court of Krishnadevaraya, Tenali Raman wasn’t just a poet — he was a strategist armed with wit. His humour wasn’t casual comedy. It was intelligence in disguise. It solved conflicts, exposed ego, softened power, and delivered truth without creating resistance.

As I narrated his stories, I couldn’t help but reflect on my own journey.

Growing up, I was labelled “serious.”
Sometimes “too demanding.”
At first glance, “intimidating.”
(Yes, I’ve heard the “terror” comment too. 😊)

Humour was not my natural operating system. It was something I consciously developed — slowly, deliberately.

Somewhere between professional deadlines, courtrooms of compliance, and life’s realities, I realised something powerful:
🔹 When you respond with humour, you create space.
🔹 When you lighten the moment, you gain influence.
🔹 When you smile, people listen differently.

Recently, I met the person who coached me during my CA Inter days. His first remark?

“You have a smiling face now.”

That stayed with me.

Humour has changed the way I lead at work.
It has changed conversations at home.
It has helped me respond — not react.

Tenali Raman used wit as wisdom.
I’m learning to do the same — at home, team communications, client meetings, public speaking platforms and everyday life.

Because sometimes, intelligence speaks.
But humour connects.

🌍 An Inspiring Experience at SIRC Conference, Chennai 🌍

On 22nd & 23rd August 2025, I had the privilege to attend the SIRC Conference at Chennai – a power-packed event that brought together professionals, thought leaders, and visionaries from across the accounting world.

One of the highlights was meeting and interacting with Ms. Taryn Rulton, Deputy President of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). 💡
Her insights on the global accounting profession were truly inspiring and gave a broader perspective on how our profession is evolving worldwide.

Seeing Ms. Taryn Rulton, Deputy President of IFAC, occupy such a powerful role reminded me of the growing strength of women in the accounting profession. 🌸

Equally enriching was the opportunity to network with fellow Chartered Accountants from different regions – sharing knowledge, experiences, and
building new professional connections.

Adding to the joy, I was also part of the Souvenir Committee — contributing in a small way to the success of this grand event. 📝

Grateful for this platform that not only strengthens our technical learning but also connects us to the larger global accounting community. 🙏

🌟 Back to Where It All Began – Sivakasi 🌟

Sivakasi has always been a special chapter in my journey.
It is here that I had many firsts:
✨ First employment
✨ First time as faculty for GMCS orientation
✨ First time handling Costing classes
✨ My COP carried Sivakasi as my professional identity
✨ First to take CPE under “Other Branch” category

This time, I had the privilege of returning as a Speaker at a Half Day Seminar organized by ICAI Sivakasi Branch. 🎤

Topic: Are You Ready for Peer Review?

An insightful session on applicability, process, and preparation requirements.

What made the day even more memorable? 🌸 It was Janmastami – a day of new beginnings, just like the many that Sivakasi has gifted me throughout my career. 🙏

Truly a blessed moment to add another milestone here. 💙

🎤 Spoke. Shared. Inspired.

I had the privilege of being invited as a guest speaker at MADITSSIA-BIC’s Awareness Program on Goods & Service Tax (GST) & Income Tax Returns (ITR) held on 6th June 2025.

It was an energizing session where I could simplify complex tax concepts for budding entrepreneurs, MSMEs, and first-time filers. The interaction, the curiosity, and the amazing turnout reaffirmed one thing: Tax awareness is empowerment.

Grateful to MADITSSIA for the opportunity and the warm response from the audience 🙏
Let’s continue building a financially literate and compliant business ecosystem! 💼📊
