Closing Ceremony of DGR sponsored Cyber Security Assistant course

A batch of 24 participants of DGR sponsored course for Cyber Security Assistant commenced from 22nd December 2025 at NIELIT Kolkata’s Jadavpur University Campus. The closing ceremony of the course was organized on 2nd April 2026 in presence of Shri Goutam Saha, Director In-Charge, NIELIT Kolkata, Shri Tapas Trivedy, Scientist-E, NIELIT Kolkata, Group Captain Surya Bhattacharya, DRZ(East), Dr. Kalyan Baital, Sc-D, NIELIT Kolkata and Smt. Rashmi Mandal Vijayvergiya, Sc-D and Course Coordinator, NIELIT Kolkata .

The ceremony began with a warm welcome address by Smt. Rashmi M. Vijayvergiya, who informed the participants about the course. She also highlighted the additional learning opportunities that were provided during the programme and briefed about the topics that were covered. Shri Goutam Saha congratulated the participants for completing the training and advised the participants to use the knowledge gathered in the training for their upcoming assignments .He also informed the participants to approach NIELIT Kolkata in future for any advice or support. Shri Tapas Trivedy emphasized the importance of the Cyber Security in everyday life and how the course will shape their future and extended his best wishes for their future. He added a special note of respect to the personnel of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, acknowledging their service and dedication to the nation.

Addressing the gathering, Group Captain Surya Bhattacharya asked the participants to make optimal use of the training imparted by the experienced faculty of NIELIT Kolkata. He also informed about the continuous effort being made DGR for resettlement of the DGR personnel. He further encouraged them to continuously enhance their knowledge and effectively apply the skills acquired during the training in their future endeavours.

Some participants briefed about the topics covered in the training and about the basics of Cyber Security that are key in making our systems secured. Dr. Kalyan Baital delivered the concluding remarks, congratulating all the participants on opting for the training programme. He also informed about the additional trainings provided under ISEA-III project. He concluded by highlighting the significance of the additional training imparted totally free of cost on Power BI and Tableau with only exam fees charged, based on data analysis which is increasingly becoming important and how the participants have gained a strong foundation in Excel. He emphasized that this advanced module will greatly support their future professional growth.

NIELIT Kolkata Conducts 4-Day Training on MS Office & Google Suite

From 23rd to 26th March 2026, NIELIT Kolkata successfully organized a four-day training programme for officials from IWT-D, WBSTC, TP&TE, NINI, Khardah Municipality, and WBTIDCL.

The programme included hands-on sessions on MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Forms, Sheets, Slides) to enhance digital skills, collaboration, and administrative efficiency.

The inaugural session was attended by Mr. Goutam Saha, Director-in-Charge (DIC); Dr. Kalyan Baital, Scientist–D & Programme Coordinator; Shri Tapas Trivedy, Scientist–E; and Mrs. Rashmi Mandal Vijayvergiya, Scientist–D. The valedictory session also included Mrs. Debapriya Bhattacharyya, PTO, and Mrs. Krishnakali Kar Khan, STO.

Participants expressed appreciation for the practical knowledge gained, which will help them perform their official duties more efficiently. This initiative reflects NIELIT Kolkata’s commitment to digital empowerment and strengthening e-Governance practices.

Five-Day Master Trainer Training Programme on Cyber Security

NIELIT Kolkata successfully conducted a Five-Day Master Trainer Training Programme on “Operations Security, Threat Landscape and Risk Management” from 16th to 20th March 2026 under ISEA Phase–III, an initiative of MeitY, Government of India.

The programme brought together 102 participants and featured engaging sessions by expert trainers, academicians, and professionals. It focused on enhancing knowledge in cybersecurity, understanding emerging threats, and implementing effective risk management practices.

The event concluded with a valedictory session and certificate distribution, marking the successful completion of an enriching learning experience for all participants.

NIELIT Kolkata continues to play a vital role in strengthening cybersecurity awareness and building a skilled talent pool for a secure digital India.

Inauguration of DGR sponsored course for Artificial Intelligence Assistant and Book Distribution

A batch of 42 participants of DGR sponsored course for Artificial Intelligence Assistant commenced from 9th Feb 2026 at NIELIT Kolkata’s Jadavpur University Campus. The Course was inaugurated on 17th Feb 2026 in presence of Shri Goutam Saha, Director In-Charge, Lt Col and Joint Director training(DRZ(East)) M K Khati, Shri Tapas Trivedy, Scientist-E, Dr. Kalyan Baital, Scientist-D, Smt. Rashmi Mandal Vijayvergiya, Sc-D & Course Coordinator, and Smt. Krishnakali Kar Khan, Senior Technical Officer along with other faculties and staff.

The ceremony began with a warm welcome address by Smt. Rashmi M. Vijayvergiya, who acknowledged the participants about the modalities of the course. She also highlighted the additional learning opportunities that will be provided during the programme and briefed about the topics that will be covered.

Shri Goutam Saha welcomed the participants and congratulated them for selecting the course. He also briefed about the advantages of the course. Shri Saha urged the participants to utilize the classroom and Lab facilities available at NIELIT Kolkata.

Shri Tapas Trivedy, emphasized the importance of the Artificial intelligence and how this course will be beneficial for DGR participants and extended his best wishes for their future. He also briefed about the different training course being offered by NIELIT Kolkata.

Addressing the gathering, Lt Col and Joint Director training(DRZ(East)) M K Khati urged the participants to make optimal use of the training imparted by the experienced faculty of NIELIT Kolkata. He further encouraged them to become skillful, which would further help them to build the nation. He welcome all the participants on behalf of DGR. He highlighted the key points about the facilities offered by DGR like Job fairs, retirement plans etc.

Dr. Kalyan Baital, delivered the concluding remarks, congratulating all the participants on opting for the training programme. He emphasized that today Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Cyber Security are the booming technology today. After retirement whatever is done, these technologies will be very important. He concluded by highlighting the significance of the additional training on Power BI and Tableau, noting that as data analysis becomes increasingly important and the participants already possess a strong foundation in Excel, this advanced module will greatly support their future professional growth.

Five-Day Master Trainer Training Programme on “Operating System Security” Successfully Conducted at NIELIT Kolkata under ISEA Phase–III during 23rd–27th February 2026

NIELIT Kolkata successfully organized a Five-Day Master Trainer Training Programme on “Operating System Security” from 23rd–27th February 2026 under Phase–III of the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) initiative of MeitY, Government of India.

The programme witnessed participation of 102 professionals and featured expert lectures by faculty members, Master Trainers of NIELIT Kolkata along with Prof. Mridul Sankar Barik from Jadavpur University.

The initiative, supported by MeitY and PMU, C-DAC Hyderabad, focused on strengthening cybersecurity capacity and preparing Master Trainers equipped to address evolving operating system security challenges.

The sessions were interactive, practice-oriented, and concluded with evaluation and certification.

NIELIT Kolkata remains committed to building skilled cybersecurity professionals and contributing to a secure digital ecosystem.

3-Day Technical & AI-Based Office Productivity Training Program conducted by NIELIT Kolkata for the Officers of the Board of Practical Training, Eastern Region

NIELIT Kolkata successfully conducted a 3-Day Technical & AI-Based Office Productivity Training Programme (for Group A & B Officers) for the officers of Board of Practical Training, Eastern Region, from 09.02.2026 to 11.02.2026.

The programme focused on AI-driven office tools, automation, cybersecurity awareness, digital efficiency, and smart decision-making in administrative environments. Participants actively engaged in hands-on sessions and practical exercises aimed at strengthening their technical and digital competencies.

The valedictory session was attended by the Director, BoPT (ER); the Director-in-Charge, NIELIT Kolkata; Dr. Kalyan Baital, Scientist-D & Training Coordinator; and Mrs. Rashmi Mandal Vijayvergiya, Scientist-D.
