In practical accounting, some transactions require special treatment because they affect business profit, inventory, or owner’s equity differently.
Understanding these entries helps maintain accurate Books of Accounts (BOA) and proper financial reporting.
🔹 1. Goods Withdrawn by Proprietor for Personal Use (Drawings)
When the owner withdraws goods for personal use:

To Purchases A/c
📌 Purchases reduce because goods are no longer used for business purposes.

🔹 2. Distribution of Goods as Free Samples
When goods are distributed for marketing or promotion:

When goods are donated for charity purposes:

When amount becomes irrecoverable from debtor:

📌 Bad debts are treated as business losses.

Trade discount is allowed at the time of sale/purchase.
