GST & Cess on Cars:

GST Council in its 50th meeting dated 11/07/2023 decided that all large cars (all utility vehicles), irrespective of how they are popularly classified (suv or otherwise), will attract 28% GST + 22% Cess, if the vehicle's length exceeds 4000mm, engine capacity 1500 cc and above and Minimum ground clearance of 170 mm. However, Sedans are not covered.
