Tibetan Handicraft Center "Nyamley" handicraft center is one the oldest place in Mc'Loed Ganj, Dhasa. Which was once shelter to many.. It was inaugurated by H.H. The Dalia Lama.

Since the Tibetan Handicraft Center Begun with contribution from His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1963, we trained many Tibetans in the weaving and have provided employment to thousands. We also provide accommodation, assist in children’s education, have pension plan for the retired worke

rs, coordinate Medicare and taking care of the workers and their families funeral expenses, while also making contribution to the Tibetan Government in exile. Our workers enjoy 3 months winter holiday when they conduct small business in Indian towns and cities they in return receive Rs 50,000/- credit from the center if they are willing. We are registered legal body and in no way condone or employ child Labor. The workers solely run this center themselves under the guidance of Central Tibetan Administration. Importance

Tibetan Carper weaving is very important part of our culture. His Holiness Has stressed the Importance of its preservation repeatedly in exile, and we are proud that under his kind leadership and your support, we not only succeed in preserving it but also in sharing our cultural heritage with the international community. Our carpet is handmade and of highest standard. No machines are involved in the process, you are welcome to tour our center and speak to the general manager to learn more about us. We sell all kinds of Tibetan Handicraft and religious items at our two outlets in Mc’leod Ganj, Dharamsala. Our tailoring section is devoted to producing Tibetan traditional dresses and handbags. You can also ask us to incorporate your own design into one of our handmade carpets. Taxes are exempted for overseas customer if payment is made in foreign currency. Your transaction with us is not mere business but a social service. Your contribution allows for the preservation of Tibetan craft, community and culture. Aims and objectives of our Handicraft society:

1) To preserve and promote Tibetan arts and culture.
2) To Provide a comfortable livelihood for workers.
3) To Train young and unemployed Tibetans in handicraft weaving.
4) To improve the educational opportunities for the workers children.
5) To generate employment. Payment specification:

overseas customers: full or 50% payment in advance along with freight charges, postage, insurance and packing etc..... whole placing the order, any mode of payment is acceptable except Credit card. Inland customers: 50% payment is made while placing the order and the remaining can be negotiated through the bank. The buyers are required to submit banker's address and account number in order for the shipment to take place.
