This post compares LIC (traditional insurance plans) and SIP (Systematic Investment Plan in mutual funds) over 15 years to show how returns and benefits differ.

Here's the simple explanation

If you invest ₹5,000 every month for 15 years, you'll invest a total of ₹9 lakh.

In LIC, you may get around 11.5-12 lakh at maturity because the return rate is only about 5-6% per year.

In SIP (mutual funds), your amount could grow to around 24-25 lakh, assuming an average return of 12% per year (compounded).

LIC gives safety and life cover, but limited returns.

SIP helps in wealth creation through higher, market-linked returns.

So, LIC is good for insurance and safety, while SIP is better for long-term growth and wealth building.
