*Inter-Religious Celebration of Gandhi Jayanti and Deepavali at DIVYODAYA Inter-Religious Centre*
Divyodaya Inter-Religious Centre organized an inter-religious Gandhi Jayanti and Deepaavali celebrations on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 in collaboration with the Lions Club International, JMJ Housing LTD and Kavery Premium Pipes.
The valedictory program was graced by distinguished guests, including
Justice A. Muhammed Jiyaputheen,
former District Court and Sessions Judge; Dr. P N Rajan,
Assistant Commissioner of Police; Mr. Gurpreet Singh,
President of Gurudwara Singh Sabha; Rev. Fr. Saju Chackalackal CMI,
Provincial of Presh*tha Province; Mr. Wilson P. Thomas, Managing Director of JMJ Housing Ltd.; and
Rev. Fr. Wilson Chakkyath CMI, Director of Divyodaya, who welcomed the gathering.
Justice Muhammed highlighted the need of becoming the torch bearers of unity, kindness, peace and harmony.
In connection with the event a series of Inter-School and Inter-Collegiate competitions were conducted that showcased the talents of students from in and around Coimbatore. While 24 teams participated in Inter-collegeiate Ganthian Quiz competition, more than 100 students from 21 schools participated in the inter-school competitions which included fancy dress, English and Tamil elocutions. The spirit of camaraderie and competition filled the air having the celebration of both the teachings of Gandhi and the joy of Deepaavali. Prizes were distributed to winners, highlighting the achievements of all participants in a festive atmosphere. The day concluded with a sense of accomplishment and community spirit among all attendees.
