Inflation, the silent predator of financial markets, stealthily diminishes the returns generated from fixed-income investments, gradually eroding the real purchasing power of investors' portfolios.

As prices rise over time, the nominal returns earned on bonds and other fixed-income assets lose their value in real terms, leaving investors with lower purchasing power than anticipated.

To combat this insidious threat, investors must carefully consider the impact of inflation on their investment strategies, seeking avenues that offer protection against its erosive effects to safeguard the long-term growth of their wealth.

The Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has announced a new rule allowing investments in mutual funds to be made in a child's name from the bank account of the parent or legal guardian. This rule change simplifies the investment process and eliminates the need for a bank account in the child's name. The new rule was effective from June 15, 2023.

Parents or legal guardians can invest in mutual funds in a minor's name, with the child being the first and sole holder of the investment. Once the child turns 18, they will become the sole owner of the investment and the parent will have no control over the funds. The taxability of gains from such investments depends on whether the investment is withdrawn before or after the child turns 18.

However, there is a risk that the money may be spent on something other than education, for which it was originally intended. So choose wisely and for better investment planning, reach out to us at https://www.sinhasi.com/

Financial literacy: A small step for your present, but a giant leap for your future.

According to a survey cited in the National Centre for Education in 2019, above 75% of Indian students lacked a basic understanding of financial concepts and 80% of women were financially illiterate. Given the Indian dynamics, the concept of money differs from person to person. Lack of financial knowledge creates an imbalance in the financial ecosystem. Hence, financial literacy is paramount.

Growing wealth requires you to make informed decisions and the only secret sauce to increasing wealth is being financially literate. Financial literacy is not a modern-day concept but a modern-day requirement. To keep up with growing inflation and expenses, it is necessary to grow your money at the same pace. This is likely possible when you start believing in financial education.
