GRKMS has high standards of data sanitization and destruction process for mass media and storage devices meant for recycling or refurbishing. Data Destruction is carried out depending upon the type of media and recycling, includes data erasure software, degaussing and physical destruction. Data Wiping: We use data erasure software, Blancco have been tested, certified, approved and recommended by governing and leading organization around the world. This data erasure software is used to wipe data from data storage devices and systems (for Hybrid State). Degaussing: We use Garner’s HD-2XT degausser, a compact, lightweight degausser generates 10000 gauss magnetic field to permanently erase all date from hard drives and tape in 7 second, verifies the erasure field strength, and numerically displays the gauss level after each cycle. Physical Destruction: Physical destruction of electronic media is carried out by drilling hard drives which make them unreadable. It ensures that the data from the hard drive is completely irrecoverable. Once the Data sanitization and destruction process is completed, only then the decommissioned assets will be forwarded to testing and disposal though recycling.
