HKIRA x CHKLC Investor Day 2026 – A Milestone for Hong Kong's IR Community

HKIRA x CHKLC 2026投資者日 – 香港投資者關係社群的重要里程碑

The inaugural Investor Day 2026, jointly organised by HKIRA and CHKLC, was successfully held on 27 May 2026 at the HKEX Connect Hall.

The event brought together over 120 investors and financial market professionals, as well as a group of quality Hong Kong listed companies, with the objective of enhancing communication, generating investor interest, and promoting market liquidity.

We were honoured to have Guest of Honour Dr. Kelvin Wong, SBS JP, Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission, who said, "Hong Kong has never been short of high-quality enterprises, nor has it lacked capital. What requires further strengthening is the 'bridge' between the two. Only when issuers and investors engage more closely can the market advance further and achieve sustainable growth."

Dr. Eva Chan, Founding Chairman of HKIRA, said, "Investor Day 2026 aims to strengthen connections between listed companies and investors by enhancing corporate communication and supporting more effective identification and evaluation of high-quality, potentially undervalued companies. Ultimately, prioritising mutual understanding and trust is essential to achieving genuine value connection."

Webinar PPT ready to be downloaded! Highlights of "HKIRA X Sodali Webinar: Board Evaluation: Closing the Gap between the Boardroom and the Investors"

The Hong Kong Investor Relations Association (HKIRA) was delighted to host the webinar, "Board Evaluation: Closing the Gap Between the Boardroom & Investors" on May 7, 2026. We thank the overwhelming near 50 participants for their active engagement.

The seminar, led by Oleg Shvyrkov, Ph.D. and Matteo Passero of Sodali & Co, provided HKIRA members with an overview of board evaluation practices under Hong Kong's regulatory framework. The session noted that under the HKEX Corporate Governance Code (effective July 1, 2025), issuers are recommended to conduct a formal board evaluation at least once every two years. The speakers introduced the two main evaluation paths: Supported Board Self-Evaluation and Full External Board Evaluation, and shared observations on how a Full External Board Evaluation typically works—confidential interviews with board members followed by a presentation of findings and global best practices to help boards identify actionable next steps. A key takeaway was that board evaluation, in either format, serves as a strategic tool to enhance board effectiveness and support informed decision-making.

Highlights of "HKIRA Seminar: Navigating Global Changes: Opportunities and Challenges in China’s Capital Markets"

The Hong Kong Investor Relations Association (HKIRA) was delighted to host the seminar, "Navigating Global Changes: Opportunities and Challenges in China's Capital Markets" on April 24, 2026, at DBS Townhall. We thank the nearly 30 participants for their active engagement.

The seminar featured keynote speaker Shujin Chen, Chief Economist of CSOP Asset Management, who provided an overview of China's economic landscape, including consumption trends, export resilience, and market implications. This was followed by presentations from Jason Lam and Shin Yi Jeng of DBS Private Bank, who shared perspectives on asset allocation strategies and the growing role of private banks in Hong Kong's equity and debt capital markets.

A panel discussion then took place featuring all three speakers, together with Joyce Kwock, General Manager, Investor Relations of Hang Lung Properties Limited, and Vincent Lam, Managing Director & CIO of VL Asset Management Limited. The panel explored practical challenges facing IR professionals, including shifting investor preferences, fund flow trends, and the rise of family offices as key market participants.
