2026 Graduate Associates Pre-onboarding Session

🎉We’re thrilled to welcome our newest Graduate Associates to the Forvis Mazars in Hong Kong family! To mark the beginning of their journey, we hosted an engaging preboarding event at Alliance Française de Hong Kong on 27 August.

This dynamic session offered our new team members an excellent chance to network and build connections while collaboratively preparing indulgent Chocolate Mousse🍫 and vibrant Mocktails🍹. The environment buzzed with lively conversations, shared laughter, and opportunities to get to know one another better—setting a wonderful tone for their new adventure!

Much like the process of crafting desserts together, this activity embodied our values. As participants mingled, communicated, and collaborated 🤝, they forged bonds and learned the importance of teamwork. Working together, they created tasty desserts 🍰 that everyone enjoyed, exemplifying how collective effort leads to success 🎯. Forvis Mazars in Hong Kong is privileged to once again serve as the official sponsor and independent auditor for the 2026 Oriental Sake Awards (亞洲清酒大賞), organized by the Hong Kong Federation of the Japanese Sake Industry (FJSIHK) and held at the Hopewell Hotel from August 18–20.

This year’s Festival offered a dynamic and expansive platform, showcasing over 800 premium sake and shochu labels sourced from 43 prefectures across Japan—including numerous exclusive limited editions and first time Hong Kong debuts.

Over the three day judging period, our Partner, Amanda Yuen, and our dedicated audit team provided rigorous oversight, ensuring that every stage of the competition adhered to the highest standards of fairness and transparency. The Co Chairs and Panel Leaders then deliberated extensively to select the champions from an exceptionally strong field of entries.

Our sincere appreciation goes to the FJSIHK for their continued trust in our firm, and we warmly congratulate all organisers, participants, and brewers on the resounding success of this year’s Festival. The official award results are expected to be released in September, and we look forward to celebrating the winners alongside the entire sake community.

On August 6, Forvis Mazars in Hong Kong, together with the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong, successfully hosted a webinar on “Hong Kong and China Tax Considerations in Cross-Border M&A”, drawing nearly 100 participants.

Our Head of Tax Services, Karen Lau and Tax Director, Grace Xia, shared practical insights on the Hong Kong and China tax implications for asset vs. equity deal, latest development on refined FSIE regime, Hong Kong’s Tax Certainty Enhancement Scheme, tax concession on group restructuring, etc.. The session, moderated by Alex Au, featured a lively Q&A covering taxation on upstream dividend and clarification for FSIE regime – reinforcing the value of early, expert led tax planning.
