As HMRC are about to send out the 2025/2026 P800 Tax Calculations they have suggested that 730,000 Pay As You Earn (PAYE) tax refunds worth on average £855 went unclaimed last year.

Companies House fees are due to increase from 01 February 2026.

Digital filing of the Confirmation Statement will increase from £34 to £50 due to Companies House. We don't charge clients on our fixed-fee contracts any additional fees for filing on their behalf.

Confirmation Statement filing fees will increase from £34 to £50 for digital filing and £110 for paper filing. All Confirmation Statements filed by Foremans are completed through the digital systems so our clients should be paying the £50 fee to Companies House.

HMRC has confirmed it will resume the direct recovery of debts from taxpayers' bank accounts. There are safeguards in place but taxpayers may be worried about whether they will be affected.

However the process was paused during the COVID-19 pandemic. The UK Government announced in the Spring Statement 2025 that the process would be reimplemented. The implementation has been restarted on a “test and learn” phase. This means that HMRC are trialling the process.
